America was founded on the principle that all men are created equal and endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, including the rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
America was the first and only nation to recognize that our rights come from God not from a king or from a government. Our rights cannot be taken away by man or by government. Our government cannot exist but by our consent.
We do not grant our consent to a government or to government leaders that do not defend our God-given rights to the hilt.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is here to conserve (defend) our unalienable rights - the entire package with no exceptions - that means we're pro-God, pro-Life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-Liberty, pro-limited government, pro-defense, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, etc., with no exceptions!
We're now locked in a battle in the defense of those rights against our own party and against our own party's presumptive nominee who has a solid history of trampling on these very same God-given unalienable rights that we are sworn to defend, and even against some of our own members.
The nation, the party, the conservative movement, the tea party, and even our beloved Free Republic is being ripped apart at the seams.
The only solution I can offer is that we must all continue to place our faith in God and not a certain political party and certainly not in a certain politician that has an anti-conservative, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual agenda, gun grabbing, statist big government record and a nasty habit of lying for political gain.
If FR is to survive this turmoil so that we live to fight another day, we must have your support. If you feel the same way that I do that our God-given unalienable rights are worth defending, Life is worth defending, Liberty is worth defending, the Pursuit of Happiness is worth defending, that our constitution and all of our rights are worth restoring and defending, that a free America as it used to be is worth restoring and defending, and I know that you do or you would not be here, so please make a contribution today.
FR is supported solely by donations made by freedom loving people like you.

Well, we did manage to weather the storm. Lots of rain and some blustery wind here at the house, but no damage nor power outage. I understand that several thousand in the general area are without power, and some isolated street flooding occurred, but all in all not bad (thank God).
We never water the lawn or gardens, unless we've newly planted, or unless it's our herbs, vegetables or flowers in planters.
Thank goodness you didn’t lose power or have a tree fall on your house or car.
I’d almost rather lose power in the winter, but we have a fireplace.
Why do ‘you’ loose the power so easily in the U.S?
‘We’ regularly, during winter, get 100mph+ gusts and massive unloadings of sky juice.
What is the difference?
We don’t bury our wires. Many cities’s are buried but mostly they’re on tall poles exposed to the weather.
"We dont bury our wires. Many citiess are buried but mostly theyre on tall poles exposed to the weather."
That would account for it!
Good night, moose! Hope to see you tomorrow!
We put up poles for phones back in the day, then put them up for TV and simply never changed.
They are an eyesore, too.
"Kentucky, officially the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a state located in the Upper South of the United States. Kentucky is one of four U.S. states constituted as a commonwealth (the others being Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts). Originally a part of Virginia, in 1792 Kentucky became the 15th state to join the Union. Kentucky is the 37th most extensive and the 26th most populous of the 50 United States." source: Wikipedia
We have no way to water our lawn, so it just sits there and dies. When we get normal precipitation back again, it should green up again.
Every time we get a pitiful few tenths of an inch of rain, some green shoots appear. That gives me hope.
Our town has funding to refurbish our teeny downtown and despite intending to do everything else, road configuration change, new sidewalks and some building facad improvement, they are still saying burying the wires is too expensive. My suspicious mind tells me the utility company won’t agree to bargain. But I guess it is expensive.
Many times it is winds in the summer, and ice build-up in the winter, bringing trees down across power lines.
