Picking her because she’s black and female is just affirmative action, which I find repugnant. No thanks. We can do better.
Last month she made it perfectly clear that she served under GW Bush by request and saw that as a call to duty. But, she has absolutely no interest in running for elective office and especially for campaigning.
Bad idea, she failed miserably for W, she doesn’t have what it takes.
Plus, race and gender pandering, he can do better.
I’m hoping this is a trial balloon to steal attention from Bambi and somehow play the “I’m not a racist” card. The timing is just too suspicious to do this now. If he wanted to choose Condi, why not announce it at the NAACP convention. That would make some heads explode.
I, for one, would like this ...
But Satah Palin she ain’t.
I hope she’s ready for the scrutiny and ridicule she would have to endure. She’s not married is she? That would be unusual not to have a 2nd Lady or Man.
The pick has to come from a crucial battleground State.
Maybe Santorum?
Frankly, I think this is a ploy by the media to take down Romney some. He’ll have to eventually deny the report, and then the media will say it proves the NAACP was right to boo him.
In order to win, Romney needs to understand and be able to articulate the ideas Allen West understands and is able to articulate--that the battle is between the ideas of individual freedom and the ideas of slavery to government.
To have the necessary enthusiasm in the base, among those who understand those ideas and will fight to preserve liberty for posterity, he must pick a running mate who excites and has a passion for Creator-endowed life, liberty, and rights, and recognizes the Constitution's limits on power.
Rice can serve well in a cabinet position, if she wishes to return to government, but she has shown no capacity for leading the battle of ideas. Besides, she shows no desire to engage in that battle either.
This cannot POSSIBLY be true. She would be a dreadful choice. Just dreadful.
I know a lot of folks like her a lot, I like her too, pretty much. But she’s no tea-partier, she’s got “BUSH” written all over her, she’ll bring nobody with her who wouldn’t vote for Romney anyway.
I just can’t believe Rice will be the veep pick.
I love Condi to death but she is too cultured and genteel to run for elective office. Make her Ambassador to the UN (if we just have to have one).
Rob Portman has the lead over at Intrade. Rice had heavy volume today.

rice was despised by blacks for being associated with the GOP and Bush. why do it again. get someone like Allen West in there. He’s tough, he fights back and he’s un-afraid. i know the vetting process will be a bastard for him and he’ll get attacked left and right, but he knows how to handle himself. we need a little fire on that ticket!IMHO.
Rice would be a very bad choice because she is pro abortion and she didn’t do such a hot job for W.
She’s super qualified, but I don’t think she’s solidly in the Conservative camp. I never have felt she was.
It’s just a visceral feeling I have in my gut that minority candidates (any minority) have to strive twice as hard and demonstrate twice as commitment, if they want to pass for Conservatives.
There are way too many temptations for them to make their career by yanking a rabbit out of a hat and shocking everyone with some last minute and wholly unexpected about-face!!!
As a prime example, Powell has tap-danced around like this for decades, to the point where he has made himself totally irrelevant and can be believed and trusted by NO ONE.
The massive political capital he COULD have accumulated was squandered by his perpetual and selfish insistence on riding the fence
lol
