So Condi is "smart". Define "smart"? Obama is "smart". We're told all these people are smart. Where's the proof? Big government is not smart.

I want conservatism. I want limited government. I want my freedom back.

No, she’s not. Not even remotely.

Moreover, she owns a home in Cali with an out lesbian.

Rice is a lesbian, I’d wager.

I’ll vote Romney no matter what, but gee, this is really pushing the envelope in teh wrong direction.

Condi has never had to spell out her positions on social issues but she will have to if she is the Veep nominee. If she turns out to be pro-abort, that’s going to be extremely hard for conservatives to stomach. Surely, he’s not dumb enough to do that but, if he is, it’s proof to me that the fix is in for Obama and Romney has been a Trojan Horse.

I should’ve left open room that Romney could be pandering to women. I don’t think like a panderer, so it’s easy to forget all the ways that a panderer can pander.

Yikes...
This Condi stuff isn’t even a trial balloon - - it’s nothing more than a Romney campaign effort, following his NAACP appearance, to show how much he loves and respects his black brothers and sisters. It’s pure theater. His VP choice will NOT be Condi. Good grief.

/facepalm

“Is Romney (well, I know it’s only rumors for now) going to pick Condi because she’s black?......Is Romney planning on pandering?”

If he’s that stupid, it’d be yet another example of the old saying “when you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one”. (That’s been Mittens’ problem all along.)

We who ARE conservative know Condy’s not, all Libs think she’s a “Bush Right-Winger”, and black libs have less charitable names for her.

Rice’s only redeeming quality at this particular point in US history is the same one Obama has: she has some black blood flowing through her veins. Twice as much, actually.

IOW, it would be pure racism that would land her on the ticket. But hey! That’s politics.

Condi was provost when my Mom attended Stanford B school. Both left and right, socially affable to both political ends.

I don’t really give a damn who Willard chooses.

I voted for VP once in ‘08. I will never, EVER, do it again.

the only thing I’ve read for sure that Condi is a good decent person is that her and George Bush would pray together....okay, maybe not a litmus test but it does show belief in God....

In a pleasantly meandering conversation over lunch in San Francisco last summer, Condoleezza Rice, then still provost of Stanford but already unofficially what she now is officially, George W. Bush's senior foreign policy adviser, was asked her thoughts about gun control.

"I am," she answered crisply, "a Second Amendment absolutist."

Growing up in Birmingham, Ala., in the early 1960s, when racial tensions rose, there were, she said, occasions when the black community had to exercise its right to bear arms in self-defense, becoming, if you will, a well-regulated militia. – The GOP of Powell and Rice, Jewish World Review, August 7, 2000 http://www.jewishworldreview.com/cols/will080700.asp

WHile Rice would be an interesting selection for a campaign, I would prefer someone who could add some political balance to the ticket ... also, someone with better foreign and defense policy credentials or positions. How about Newt (if he’d take it), or any of several other well-known people we could probably agree on? We want as good a govt as possible now after these last 3.5 disastrous years ...
