Kept on working into the 21st century.

I thought he had died 20 years ago....
Just shows to go ya, can’t keep up with everything.
“McHale’s Navy” was probably his most honest role, ever.

Well, that’s number two. Wonder who number three will be.
I enjoyed his work though I know nothing about him as a private person. I think that’s best since I tend to not be able to watch most stars after learning they are idiots in their private lives.
May his soul rest in peace.

Naval career Borgnine joined the United States Navy in 1935, after graduation from James Hillhouse High School[6] in New Haven, Connecticut. He was discharged in 1941, and re-enlisted when the United States entered World War II and served until 1945 (a total of ten years), reaching the rank of Gunner's Mate 1st Class. He served aboard the destroyer USS Lamberton (DD-119). His military decorations included the Navy Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal with Fleet Clasp, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
One of the greatest generation. RIP, Gunny.
