A former UC Berkeley doctor accused of sexually molesting six male patients is being sued for wrongful death after one of his alleged victims committed suicide.
The body of Elgin Stafford was found floating in a Carson, California, river channel on March 29, nine days after the 23-year-old was reported missing.
The parents of the UC Berkeley and University of Southern California student claim he killed himself after he was 'repeatedly sexually violated and abused' by Dr. Robert Kevess, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

.
'He was ashamed, and this thing ate him up,' she told the newspaper. '[Kevess] took advantage of my son. He needs to be brought to justice.'
But Kevess' attorney, Robert Beles, denied the allegations. 'Any of the alleged conduct against Dr. Kevess in relation to this young man in no way proximately caused any of his psychological problems or in any way caused his death,' he told the newspaper.
'We have great sympathy for the Stafford family,' he added.
During a court appearance in April last year, 52-year-old Kevess, of Oakland, pleaded not guilty to 19 felony charges relating to the sexual exploitation of patients since 2006.

Dead people are more likely to win when they sue for wrongful death...
:)
Creepy...ick!
The article does not exlicitly declare that this white doctor accused of sexually molesting a black man (boy?) is a homosexual.
Why?
Stafford was 23, not 13. Old enough to know better.
Stafford was 23, not 13. Old enough to know better.
Because it goes without saying? If I correctly understood the article before my security monitor shut it down, the student was 21 when he sought treatment from the doctor for an STD.
At what point could we say a 21-year-old man who’s obviously sexually active ought to be able to tell a 50-year-old queen to buzz off? We either need to say all homosexual activity is intolerable, period, or allow that a consensual relationship is the responsibility of the parties involved.
The charges and this attorney's denial make me think there could be a lot of unintended consequences from the Ravi/Clementi case at Rutgers. If Ravi can be held criminally liable for his actions that led to the suicide death of a homosexual, I suspect the reverse case can be made just as easily...that unwanted homo advances that drive somebody to suicide can be criminally prosecuted.
Naahhh! Couldn’t be. Registered Democrats never do anything wrong.
This is sad, but, dude was 23 years old. Why didn’t he get up off the table and knock the crap out of the pervert doctor? Something is fishy here. It’s not like it was an innocent 9 year old child.
Unlike most doctors, this one tried spread his disease rather than try to cure himself.
That poor kid. Imagine his horror. That so-called doctor should get the death penalty if found guilty. How many other lives has he destroyed with his filth?
Our founding fathers gave people like this the death penalty for good reason. They knew what they were. Letting them out of the insane asylums was one of the worst mistakes this country has ever made. These people are not "normal."
At the least, the Doc should lose his license for gross abuse of the Dr. - patient relationship. The article says the homo Doc subjected the patient to BS procedures. A SWAG would be that it brought forth latent or suppressed homosexual tendencies for which the kid felt guilty.
Note to self: no prostate exams from Robert Kevess
This wouldn't be that hard if he got them hooked on some kind of prescription drug. They'd have to come back again and again - against their will - sort of.
Six guys are a lot of victims.
San Fransicko area is indeed sick.. in so many ways..
Who can count them all.. the only crime here is the cowardice of the 23 year old..
What about his other 5 victims?
I think forcible rape should be a death penalty offense, but I am no fan of sticking people with murder charges when somebody commits suicide.
Totally unproveable and subject to abuse. Even if the dead person blames them in a suicide note before they do it, the fact is the dead person could have chosen not to do it.
I’d never vote for a conviction on this.
The victimization wars are being waged here: gays v. blacks. In the media, the gays win, no questions asked.
