Several electronic road construction signs around Anchorage were hacked late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Signs that normally display closure and detour information, like the one on Minnesota Drive near 100th Avenue, were changed to read Impeach Obama. That particular sign wasnt fixed until sometime between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Thursday.
It happened because DOT says it doesn't lock the boxes on the signs that hold the message control pad.
Construction managers say sign-hacking has never happened before, so they never thought to lock the boxes.

Speaking of road construction, there seems to be a quite a bit of activity in my area. For years, the section of I-84 between Pt. Jervis and Scranton looked like it was hit by a mortar attack. Lately PENNDOT has been all over it. Also the conversion of the Quickway(NY17,slated to be renamed I-86) to interstae hwy standards that was approved almost 20 yrs ago seems to be moving along at a faster pace. Is this a sign the dems realize they may be in deep doo-doo? Anyone in MI, IL, OH or other blue states notice this strange phenominon?
This is only a portable traffic warning sign. It wasnt really “hacked”. Someone physically walked up to it, opened the control panel and made it say what they wanted. There are a few that are remotely changed but most are just simple programmable flashing signs.
Amber alert signs are another animal altogether. They are controlled either wirelessly via cell phone or on the DOT network and I am positive are not able to be manipulated in this way. If it was then it would have been an “authentic hack.”
This was just humorous shenanigans.
Why, Sarah, you sneakly little Republican mamabear. You did it.
Great sign.
How about another that says, “Bring back Palin”?
or “Mama grizzlies do it better”.
Or: “In Nov., put Obama on a bridge to nowhere”.
Melancholy - a nice companion graphic for the black bus/middle finger salute photo.
Mine too...but we call them 'traveling Greeks' instead of what they really are .....Hungarian gypsies.
Unless the DOT guys 'forget' to. There ain't a whole lotta love for Bozo in Alaska.
Well what if they had hacked, “SPEED LIMIT 115 MPH NEXT 75 MILES”?;)
Obama always wants to see his name “up in lights.”
I really wish that James “My-Head-Looks-Like-A-Female-Manikin-Without-Makeup” Carville would find more worthy uses of his time and talents.
Well what if they had hacked, SPEED LIMIT 115 MPH NEXT 75 MILES?;)

OK, before I spotted the :) I was going to ‘slam’ you with something like suppose they wrote “Your mother wears combat boots” but I can see you are taking these lightly also, as I am sure the majority of us realize it could be a ‘dangerous’ thing but we can’t spend our lives looking under every bed, couch etc etc ..Unless you can’t find the cat.
BTW ...If they would have limited it to 75 miles some would be weewee’d off it was only 75 miles...<: <: <:
I can’t believe it took 64 posts until someone posted that. Zombies FTW!
We need more Alaskans!! They know how to get the message out!
That’s good work and you do excellent work FOR AMERICA, Patriot!
Thanks!
America needs Sarah Palin to get the word out.
And the next time I am standing next to a person that calls her a quitter again I am taking out my welding gloves and slapping them in the face.
We need to spotlight the Communist Party USA, we need to illuminate them like hunters after escaping felons during a night hunt.
They do not belong in America, they do not belong in CHARGE of America.
Don’t be surprised if across the states the e-boards launch into the CPUSA soon, telling motorists who and what they really are, enemies of a domestic origin.
I wish someone would say it to me or near me - I'd video them having their meltdown. Those I know, know better.
IMO, if anyone says anything negative about her, they are speaking negatively about America.
