Several electronic road construction signs around Anchorage were hacked late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Signs that normally display closure and detour information, like the one on Minnesota Drive near 100th Avenue, were changed to read Impeach Obama. That particular sign wasnt fixed until sometime between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Thursday.
It happened because DOT says it doesn't lock the boxes on the signs that hold the message control pad.
Construction managers say sign-hacking has never happened before, so they never thought to lock the boxes.

I laughed when I read this and wondered, “Where was this, in relation to Eye of Unk?”
Nice to see a few sparks of rebellion.
I have a better one.
GO TO HELL ALLAH!
Love, Jesus...
That's handy to know.
I've heard of this shortcoming before, but then, there are Hungarians in my family. They always know.
Gotta love it!
Skywriting, or on the cheap, an airplane towing a little banner is very noticeable.
Clearly Sarah Palin’s fault!
Obama will probably wet his panties and call for the military.

The most amazing fact in the article is that there is really a street in Anchorage, Alaska named “100th Avenue.”
I never thought the city was that big.
Do they start at 90th ??
;- )
At our town's Fourth of July parade, the North Shore dims had their very first entry this year. Of course the dims had the equality, gay, diversity, publick schrewl, etc., theme. They got booed just past the review stand. I looked to see who it was, and it was some young people, including several Hispanics.
“DOT says it doesn’t lock the boxes on the signs that hold the message control pad.”
Now, in most cities, officials would lock those boxes, but even if they did not lock them, they would not announce publicly that the boxes are unlocked.
I have three theories:
1. Maybe they really want to encourage other Alaskans to put more “unauthorized” messages on those signs. (”I am shocked, shocked, that this goes on in our city!”)
2. Maybe they want to have a plausible explanation that the DOT did not put the messages there in the first place. (”No one here would do that. We all voted for him.”)
3. Well, there is still the possibility that the crime rate in Anchorage is so low, that people really do not see a need to lock things up. Once upon a time, it used to be like that in the lower 48 states.
CONVERT TO ISLAM OR DIE!
“I have a better one. GO TO HELL ALLAH! Love, Jesus...”
Heh, heh, I agree with that sentiment, except........(think about it) the authorities would treat a hacked sign with the Name of Jesus on it as an act of vandalism & immediately delete it on the spot.
On the other hand they would be verrrry hesistant about interfering with an Islamic message with all the PC going around. Probably would refer it clear up to the governor’s office before taking any action. Safer just to leave it alone.
Friday humor ping for those who’ve not seen it yet......First thought: “Piper and friends up to mischief”
I’m honored. Thanks.
Maybe the people need large back yards so their pet moose can run around.
Too late to impeach him.
It is time to defeat him and fellow anti American Progressives in Congre$$ this Nov.
Defeat him like we did with his role model Jimmy Carter, and remove enough left wingers in congress to put Holder and other thugs in jail in 2013.
That would be my 2nd choice.
