I will miss him. I loved and still love the early days of the Mayberry show in black and white. Life as I wished it to be.
Years ago I worked on the “outer banks” in Dare County. He was extremely generous to the schools and charities there.
I will not forget.
Rest in Peace , Sheriff Andy..
Howe...
It’s regretable that Taylor won’t be remembered as the folksy, amiable Mayberry sheriff.
Instead he (and Opie) will be remembered as Obama’s spokesmen for his abominable death plan and his evil regime!
Did anyone else ever feel that the Andy Griffith show was anti-gun and promoted disarming the populace in a subtle way?

I didn’t know he lived on Roanoke Island.
I actually met him there one morning when we went to watch rehearsals for The Lost Colony. He was a personable sort and sat with us a while discussing the play. The kids were awed by his sitting and actually being interested in their thoughts on what they were seeing.
My dad when younger to middle aged was the spitting image physically of andy griffith - they’ve since diverged in appearances as they’ve aged. I had friends in college ask if I was related in some way due to the pictures on my desk. When I was very young and watching the AGS I thought for sure that my dad was working on it.
how sad
rest in peace
I always thought there was a lot more lonesome rhodes in him than andy taylor
How sad.
A great actor whose characters embodied those American truths that his politics made him disavow.
Strange, sad and ironic. A great talent. We won’t see his like again.
RIP.
They always die in threes, who is next?
D**k van D*k* ?
Andy is sitting on that great big Ritz cracker in the sky.
The black and white Andy Griffith show was some of the best TV ever made. I’ll always think of Andy Griffith as Andy Taylor. His politics were disappointing, but this is one case where it won’t affect my enjoyment of his work.
"The strain of worrying whether Obamacare would survive must have taken its toll."
I always got a kick out of this parody.
Condolensces for those who mourn him.
I’d better stop there.
RIP.
My condolences to his family. However, I wish I could remember him fondly. I don’t. Instead, I remember him as someone who echoed my American values and principles in his acting and then made his inspiration a lie. It was a disappointment to me when I found out what he was really like.
He was my Chief Justice Roberts of TV personalities.
