>> So is there any Republican who had the courage to run against Jesse, Jr. this time? <<

Brian Woodworth is the Republican nominee in 2012 ( www.woodworthforcongress.com ). A better question might whether any Republican official (at the state or federal level) has the courage to spent a cent helping him out, or whether they'll just leave him out to dry as the sacrificial lamb.

>> No Republican can possibly win in that district, it’s the South Side of Chicago. The winner of the Dem primary automatically wins the seat. <<

You may have a point, Isaac Hayes was the GOP nominee in 2010 (a high profile black conservative with the same name as the famous musician), and he spent a ton of time and money to run the first visible general election campaign in that district in debates. He couldn't break 15% during a huge year for the GOP. The screwy liberal media kept blathering on about Jesse Jr. was "vulnerable" to white Democrat & ex-Congresswoman (from the neighboring 11th district) Debbie Halverson in this year's primary. The district has been redrawn to go all the way down to Kankakee Co. In both the Kankakee and Will county portions of the district, she got over 60% of the RAT primary vote against Jesse. But in the Crook County portion of the district (including the suburbs), Jesse Jr. was racking up over 90% of the vote, and won by over 70% district-wide. Jr. could be caught on live TV sacrificing small children in Satanic blood orgies and he'd STILL win handily. His constiuents are completely brain dead. They make my district's voters next door in IL-1 (Bobby Rush's district) look good.

Jackson’s new district gave Obama 81%, (and I estimate at least 70% for Kerry).

Barring fluke Joe Cao circumstances that seat is not winnable, it hardly looks more favorable than my 4th district and much worse than the 9th district which we failed to come close to even with as strong a challenge as has ever been put up.

Of course I support every effort in even 95% rat seats but I would rather people put money into helping Bobby Schilling and Jason Plummer.
