PHOTOS: Student activists protest ObamaCare at Supreme Court
Campus Reform ^

Student activists from around the country gathered in front of the Supreme Court on Thursday to protest ObamaCare, formally known as the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.”

The young conservative activists made it clear they opposed government interference in health care and specifically targeted the bill’s individual mandate.

“The federal government does not have the power to mandate that I purchase a specific product, like health insurance,” said Marjorie Jeffrey, a graduate student at Baylor University. “It certainly can’t force me to pay for someone else’s health care.”

Other students opposed the narrowly upheld law for other reasons.

“I don’t support Obamacare because I don’t support legislation that kills jobs,” said Christine Rouselle, who is a senior at Providence College.

"Pay up, kids! The democrat base wants it's free stuff. Get to work!"

You're dreaming. The college brat crowd will never "pay up". They think they are owed so they can be decadent on Spring Break.

I'm so going to enjoy watching so many having to live in their parents spare bedroom or basement. I'm going to post an article to laugh at them for thinking their stupid college studies like, "Women Equality Studies" or "Social Responsibility" or "Racial Inequity Studies" or so many other inane majors that have NO practical application in the world of business, precludes them from a real job.

I'm going to laugh my ass off as I sit on my porch looking over my home view in comfort from working from making a real living, as they wonder why they can't get a decent paying job and still depend on their loser parents. But then, they can always teach. Pfft.

Obamacare kills babies, the Constitution and jobs.

Roberts needs to be impeached.

Yes, I remember Badjoe. He was a personal friend. I'm sorry, but I don't remember your FR handle at BobJ's house.

Of course I remember the Clinton lies. I was the main coordinator for the first Free Republic sponsored event called the, "March For Justice" in October of 1998. That event helped get him impeached.

Hopefully, you will stick around this world to get this bastard out of our White House. We thought Clinton was bad? Don't go away just yet, please.

Thank you for you kind words. I thought we sat on his patio discussing things, but was not sure if was there or some other FR gathering. Time is a mindfrig. Glad to see you're still around and fighting.

Have you been in touch with BobJ recently? We lost touch about 3 years ago. I think he gave up and moved to a Wyoming property he bought some years back. Or maybe he's still in San Diego the last I heard.

Take care ole Patriot. We did good back when. Now, our only hope is...

STATES' RIGHTS!
NULLIFICATION!
TIME TO TELL THE OVER-REACHING FEDGOV TO SHOVE...!

Vet: I made a mistake in “Clintons Lies” It is something like that and the lady that had that name was “Connie Hair”. If I remember right you arrived at BobJ’s on a motorcycle. Of course at 88 my memory is not what it use to be.
Have a wonderful day and the very best to you and yours.

“Name one large bill or tax in our history that was EVER repealed?”

I am generally of a like mind on this point and have so posted on this forum. But I have been encouraged more since this farce of a decision. There have been examples:

1. The tax that caused the Whiskey Rebellion was repealed in 1801.

2. The WPA spent about 6.7 percent of GDP in 1935. It was shut down in 1943.

3. The Civilian Conservation Corps was another New Deal scheme. It was shut down in 1942.

4. The Public Works Administration was shut down in 1943.

5. The Federal Works Agency ended in 1949.

6. The Medicare Catastrophic Coverage Act of 1988 was ended a year later.

7. The original Federal telephone excise tax that was created to finance the Spanish American War was repealed in 1902. Its follow on reincarnation was reinstated for WWI and finally at least partially repealed in 2006.

It will be a daunting task but we MUST turn the tide and start whacking away at the bloated government monster. Let's start with Obamacare!

Congress can control the SCOTUS, if it has the will. The bolded part at the end is perhaps the least appreciated sentence in the entire Constitution.

U.S. Constitution, Article 3 Section 2:

The judicial Power shall extend to all Cases, in Law and Equity, arising under this Constitution, the Laws of the United States, and Treaties made, or which shall be made, under their Authority;--to all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls;--to all Cases of admiralty and maritime Jurisdiction;--to Controversies to which the United States shall be a Party;--to Controversies between two or more States;-- between a State and Citizens of another State,--between Citizens of different States,--between Citizens of the same State claiming Lands under Grants of different States, and between a State, or the Citizens thereof, and foreign States, Citizens or Subjects.

In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction. In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.

"...with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make."

Enough Tea Party Patriots could lead a new Congress, and put the SCOTUS back into its box. The USA was never intended to become a tyranny of five judges. It's in the Constitution: The Congress is superior to the SCOTUS. There are NOT "three co-equal branches" as most believe.
