When I was growing up there was NO way I would have said what I am about to say. I would not ever advise my children today to go to med school nor would I ever allow them to serve in this PC military.
I feel bad for your son, or any aspiring doctor. They are a special breed of people and really have those dreams due to having the heart of servants.
If I were in that situation, I might consider redirecting my “healing heart” towards vet medicine. Heck, I like dogs better than most people anyway.

This is not the equivelant of Bush 1’s “no new taxes” pledge. The leeches don’t care about the tax increases, they don’t even realize the costs of those increases. All they care about is “sticking it to the rich guy or corporations.”

I wonder if today's ruling will affect HSAs? I know the objective of ObamaCare is to put an end to all private insurance and "move forward" to a single-payer system. {{shudder}}

Today’s holding is problematic for many reasons. First, it is a novel holding that threatens to expand the taxing power extensively. It removes the taxing power from the representative branches and places it in the only non-accountable branch, the judiciary. Defenders of the law — from President Obama to Nancy Pelosi to Harry Reid — all insisted that the law they voted for was not a tax. Now, when it is off their desk, the court has retroactively declared it a tax, circumventing the public accountability intended by the Founders and recognized by constitutional law as the major check on the taxing power.

Yes, your HSA’s are outlawed starting in 2014 or shortly after. It was already severely limited for this year and the limitations continue to grow until it is completely outlawed.
why study biology, microbiology,chemistry, physics,calculus, anatomy,pharmacology,etc to be a dr when you could study “education” and be a teacher with just as good a pay, no liability, no weekends, no holidays, no summers and lots of time off inbetween?
Just got an e-mail from a friend of mine who has cancer. She says she is relieved that they didn’t strike down the healthcare law, because she thinks that otherwise insurance companies could deny her coverage because of her condition.
I don’t know what to respond to her. I might just talk about the weather, instead.

More wishful thinking. As Rush pointed out, even if this law is repealed by the next congress/President, the precedent has been set that the federal govt can tax anything.
Someone help my memory here... isn’t the Obamacare Bill we’re discussing the bill “deemed passed” out of the Senate? IIRC, the House Bill died and the Democrats resurrected the Senate bill out of reconciliation and “deemed” it passed.
If my memory isn’t faulty... doesn’t that invalidate the law as ruled on by SCOTUS? It’s now officially a tax and all revenue bills MUST originate in the House!
Am I wrong?
