Rep. Darrell Issa threw down the gauntlet to President Obama in a letter to the president that accuses him of being involved in the Fast and Furious operation.
The Hill:
Issa took issue with Obama's assertion of executive privilege over a cache of documents at the Department of Justice - including a February 2011 letter later withdrawn by the agency - that Issa believes includes information on Holder's role in Fast and Furious.
"Either you or your most senior advisers were involved in managing Operation Fast and Furious and the fallout from it, including the false Feb. 4, 2011 letter provided by the attorney general to the committee," Issa wrote to Obama. "Or, you are asserting a presidential power that you know to be unjustified solely for the purpose of further obstructing a congressional investigation."

You people here on FR are soooo delusional ... don’t you remember? This is supposed to be the most transparent presidency EVER ... of course there is no cover up!! Even Jay Carney, the guy who always has a fair and reasoned response to all questions at his press briefing agrees - no cover up. Let’s all move along and listen to more Obama sings Bieber. /S
The Mexicans must have got to him first. They put a sombrero on his head.
Absolutely.
That's it.
If the unthinkable happens and Obamacare is upheld, we’ll be lucky if the contempt vote story is even mentioned by the media.
Here's an article from February 2009 which illustrates Obama's/Holder's mindset for masterminding the 'Fast & Furious' plan:

And us. Whether the local newspaper is covering the story, half covering the story or ignoring the story, it is our duty to inform the editor of what we know about the Executive branch cover up and the democrat party conspiracy to make that cover up work.
Then send a copy of your letters to your congress person and senator requesting they get involved if they aren't yet.
Turn it up some on the grassroots level.
If the situations were reversed as you described you wouldn’t be able to go three feet without seeing Issa’s picture with the phrase “speaking truth to power” under it.
I don’t think Issa has all of the documents he requested, but I think he has enough of them. And he knows or at least strongly suspects from what he does have what else exists that he doesn’t.
I also think 0bama & Holder know he has some of the documents, but they are in a dither because they don’t know what he does have and what he doesn’t.
Some people on this forum are mad at Issa because he doesn’t just go storm the White Hut & DOJ with his Mac-10’s spraying bullets. Well, this is DC politics and not a Chuck Norris movie. I think Issa’s maneuvering and timing are masterful. He is playing a chess game with two hacks who can’t play Candyland. Chess requires lots of patience, but I can see this playing out to the final checkmate. Sometime around September or October, and that would suit me fine.
Because he has played that card so often that only the kool-aid drinkers will swallow it.
Issa will wrap this before the election. IMHO.
This is just Issa’s inflexible partisanship. No wonder the MSM is ignoring it. They are non-partisan, and only pay attention to non-partisan subpoenae.
Check out this post:, it’s more along the line that he’s provoking us to riot, which to me means us inviting martial law, which means us inviting invasion by outside powers:

I followed halfright's link and the "primer" refers to a Feb. 4, 2010 letter that was later admitted to be "inaccurate." Shouldn't that be 2011?
Yes, you are right. I have tweeted Sharyl and she is going to change it. (Others have tweeted her about it too.)
For those following at home, the Feb 4, 2011 letter was from the DOJ to Sen. Grassley. It categorically denied that the ATF had let guns walk.
Then in May 2011 the DOJ sent another letter reiterating that the ATF did not let guns walk.
Then in Dec 2011, the DOJ retracted the denial letter, effectively admitting to the lie.
It is this 10 month period that Issa has subpoenaed documents on -- the communications in the DOJ between the time they denied gunwalking and when they admitted it. These are the documents in question that Holder is stonewalling on, and will result in his contempt charge.
The vote on Thursday is not a vote on Fast and Furious: it is merely a vote on whether Holder has complied with the subpoena to release docs from that 10 month period. And there is no question that he has not complied with that subpoena.
ooooh. my, my, my. What are things coming to? Another letter? That’s just awful. So viscous and threatening... a letter? Wow.
A letter? Really? Has he no shame? Where is his sense of decency?
These pissants are just sitting by and watching open insurrection and lawlessness against the country by the bastard in the white hut. Nothing but a jive ass street thug ...
The letter asks the president about the nature of the executive privilege. It asks if the privilege is being claimed because (1) the President and his senior advisers were involved, and this investigation is correct, or (2) the President wasnt involved, but is trying to cover something up.
It is not just a letter. It is brilliant.
I’ve seen it. I’m not impressed. I don’t think it is brilliant to state an obvious conclusion resulting from application of simple logic. It may be right but it isn’t brilliant.
What is more, it means and accomplishes nothing. Issa has been playing this game for more than a year since the 2010 elections. He has gotten nothing but intermittent press. Looks like he is playing a very long game. I wonder if he is just going to try to bore holder to death?
No, I don’t agree and think nothing of politicans. Tell me all about the clear position of opposition and outrage expressed byt the house towards the latest unlawful outrages in the open insurrection by this administration.
It is like a gang of thugs came in and took over the town and everybody has run scared.
I piss on politicians of all stripes. Only one in a thousand worth a damn. The rest ain’t worth they dynamite to blow them up. They are sitting by and watching the guts torn out of this country and just continue to play politics.
It is going to take more than letters and and an election. We can’t wait for an election at this pace.
Sorry you are cynical about all politicians, but there are some fine statesmen on Capitol Hill, and Issa is one of them.
Your view, my view. Different.
Yeah, I “get it”. Means very little. The media controls the story. Too little, too long, too late.
Have a nice day.
