I think the Justices have telegraphed the results. Here's why.
No, this court will be the one that finally finds something important the commerce clause doesn’t allow the feds to do!
What a waste of paper the rest of the Constitution has become: the commerce clause and the 14th Amendment uber alles...
You’re right but I can’t stop thinking about it. I was driving home from work thinking about all those parts that didn’t make sense then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
It’s the only way the pieces fit together for me. I think the entire obamacare is going to be upheld and it’s killing me. The pieces don’t fit together any other way that what I described.
I'll see your drivel and raise you........
Ditto. Although I expect another very sharply worded dissent from Scalia.
that market is only betting on the mandate being overturned not the entire law.
The mandate could very well be over turned and the rest of the law left intact.
Well, I guess it all Depends........
Intrade disagrees with you.
Darn-I think you’re right, also. Logical reasoning. it doesn’t count that it is unconstitutional anymore.
- Egypt falls to Muslim Brotherhood control
- Obama shamelessly invokes 'executive privilege' to hide 'Fast & Furious' docs AND CONGRESS LOOKS THE OTHER WAY.
- SCOTUS allows continued illegal alien invasion
- Obama unilaterally changes Federal Immigration law (impeachable offense) to benefit illegal alien invaders AND CONGRESS LOOKS THE OTHER WAY; Jobs, anyone?
- Pentagon sponsors parades for gay soldiers
Will the Supreme Court allow the government's THEFT of 1/6 of our private sector health care industry to allow for the IRS to preside over YOUR health care? Probably. Will they force you to pay for it and fine you if you don't? Perhaps not, but in light of all that's happened this month, it would be insignificant relative to the evil that has been waged upon America and our 'barely intact' Constitution.
Darn-I think you’re right, also. Logical reasoning. it doesn’t count that it is unconstitutional anymore.
You could be correct on this. It’s my understanding that Roberts will probably be reading the decision, basically because it’s his turn and having a Conservative Justice read the decision will blunt conservative criticism.
You are correct. Even if 0bamascare is stuck down, Hussein will implement it piece by piece through regulations. After all, he fancies himself as Emperor Hussein I of Amerika, after decreeing that he would only enforce those laws he liked, and having congress barely react.
If it is upheld, it should motivate the hell out of everyone who opposed it to get Obama out office so it can be repealed. Everyone considers a ruling against to be great for us, but it removes one huge motivator for November. Romney could beat Obama with it if it is upheld.
I don’t think anyone can really anticipate the type of civil unrest that may occur if the HC law is upheld. I don’t expect conservatives to take to the streets and burn things like liberals do. But, I expect widespread retribution against liberals in congress in the November elections followed by a large segment of the population ignoring the law in any way possible. This includes businesses and medical professionals.
Wrong.
We shall see.
It all starts (turning around) in 3 days.
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.

I know intratrade disagrees but they can be wrong as well. ON thing that bothers me is the confidence that most conservatives have that “at least the mandate will be overturned”. Too many, almost all, conservatives agree on this point and that’s what scares me. These decisions that are being handed down make no sense if you’re a constitutional scholar. They only make sense if you’re a liberal. Yes one or two went out way but that’s by design.
