If you have Crisco in a can, essentially you have schmaltz.
I had schmaltz once but Lotrimin cured it.
Chicken fat in the soup. Mmmmmmmmmmm, good fer ya. Any good Kosher soup has an ‘abundanza’ of *schmaltz*; I’m a ‘recovering Methodist’, but know from whence I speak, having worked in NYC for 20yrs (70s & 80s). Gosh, I miss those Jewish Delis! LOL.
It is always serious when you have schmalz on da schmeckle ;-)

I learned what it was from Wolfgang Puck. Found out my eastern-European in-laws had me cooking with it and I didn’t even know what schmaltz was.

Up unusually late posting past my QT with QT. She’s in Chicago at a company “work” retreat. She’s learning “cooperation” and “team building” by assembling a bicycle with others instead of billing almost $800 and hour for 3 days. Morons in their Management!

Kinda like the unwrittne rule for nurses....that says we never EVER repeat anything you say when coming out of anesthesia....unless it is a hospital Christmas party and we need some good laughs ;-)
