BELLEFONTE, Pa. — A Centre County jury found Jerry Sandusky guilty of 45 counts of child sex abuse late Friday night, closing the first chapter in a scandal that tarnished a university and led to the ouster of four of its top administrators.
The panel of seven women and five men returned their verdict after about 21 hours of deliberations over two days. The former Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach now faces the possibility of spending the rest of his life in prison.
Over the course of his eight-day trial, jurors heard from eight accusers who said Sandusky, 68, molested them as boys during a period spanning from the mid-1990s until 2009.

There was talk he may walk. I am so glad the jury did not go the route of Michael Jackson on this one just because Sandusky is famous.

I just don’t understand why it took 21 hours to reach the verdict.
I very much regret there is no death penalty for child rape. At least life in prison would theoretically keep him from raping another child.
There were a lot of charges. They probably had to systematically go through them one by one.
Because there were 48 seperate though related charges to go over.
DRUDGE has 23 “GUILTY” counts at the moment.
I’m really proud of the jury. Since they took a while to reach a verdict, the Missus was predicting that he’d walk, saying that when the jury takes a while it’s an indication of inability to agree.
They probably had it all ironed out by dinner time; but knowing that once they announced a verdict they’d be tied up for quite a while.
So they went to dinner, and afterward probably checked one another out to cement the fact that they were all on the same page, and then they lowered the boom on that creep Sandusky!
With good behavior, Sandusky will be walking the streets just before his 350th birthday.

I’m proud of a jury that deliberates. They had 48 counts to wade through. They did their job.
I was on a jury many years ago and we reached the verdict around lunch time. We were all close to starving and unanimously voted to get the free box lunch and then tell them we had decided.
