Ugh is right!
I don’t like dat really hot weather.
It’s supposed to be in the mid 70’s the rest of the weekend.
That’s the kind of temps that I like.

Nice French horn bits in the Academic Festival Overture. :)
As a former...but not too good...horn player they stand out
to my listening ears.

Co-written by Jack Bruce and his wife, Janet Godfrey, "Sleepy Time Time" became a standard Cream performance number along with "Sweet Wine" which Godfrey co-wrote with Ginger Baker. The song is a showcase for Clapton's distintive slow blues style leading to the moniker "Slowhand" given to him by Giorgio Gomelsky, owner the Crawdaddy Club where The Rolling Stones were the house band. Gomelsky hired The Yardbirds to replace the Stones when Beatlemania hit and went on to manage them. He was also their producer from the beginning through 1966.

The terrible experience
Johannes Brahms went through with his piano concerto caused him to shy away from the genre. Now, decades later at the age of 48, he was ready to try again. The premiere came in Budapest in November 1881 with Brahms on the piano. Clara Schumann was shocked at the deterioration of Jos piano technique, but he gamely made his way through the thickly textured piano writing.
It begins with a dreamy statement by piano and horn, and then Brahms takes off on one of his magical journeys.
Brahms did not write this concerto in the traditional three movements, but in four like a symphony, with a scherzo in D minor in second position.
For his beautiful slow movement, Brahms lays the sweetness on with a movement where the solo cello plays a role almost as important as the piano.
The finale is a throwback to Mozarts and Beethovens B-flat piano concertos. The grownups are gone, and now its time for the kids to play.
Brahms had great success taking this concerto on the road, except in Leipzig.

Cream's second UK single was written and sung by Eric Clapton, and again was a record company choice. The band hated it and left it off their albums, refused to perform it and forbid it's release in the US. A wise move since American audiences never heard this commercial side of the band. The success in the UK did however leverage the band to negotiate a harder rock image for their US debut in 1967.

The summer of 1882 at Bad Ischl was a fine one for
Johannes Brahms for he got a lot of work done. One of the best pieces was his latest piano trio. His first trio from his teenage years had been a large work, but this work of his maturity is wonderfully compact.
It begins with a delicious first subject that just commands attention. The second subject at 1:31 and the third at 2:50 are juicy. The development section is impassioned. Recapitulation comes at 5:28, and its re-composed, as usual, for Brahms. It comes to a wonderful, decisive close.
Brahms: Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello in C Major, Op. 87, first movement
Brahms turns to A minor for a theme-and-variations movement based on a tune with a Hungarian flavor. The first variation at 1:19 is desolate. The second variation at 2:39 is a bit more dance-like. The third variation at 3:51 sounds like gypsy music filtered through Bach. At 4:54 the fourth variation is in the major. The fifth variation at 6:15 returns to the minor and spins the melody in triple time. It ends peacefully.
second movement
The scherzo is in C minor. The middle section is one of Brahms most magical moments. He writes a waltz in C Major, but not like Johann Strauss. Its beautiful, and you dont want it to end. But being a scherzo, it must.
third movement
For a finale, Brahms sets a carnival to music.
fourth movement
