Only if there is a strong third party candidate pulling votes from Romney, and no one is on the horizon. 43% won't get it done for O.
He is a failure on all fronts and he constantly blames others, as if he was a two year old!
Damn, so many people are just stupid!
Yeah, I read on FR that Reagan was behind in the polls a month before the election.
I don’t remember that but I find it hard to believe Carter was in the running at the time.
I was in the Air Force, in our 4th year of drawdowns following the Vietnam Era drawdown. Morale was in the crapper. Reagan promised to build the military. I would think he got high 80’s to 90s from military voters.
According to Gallup, Obama was at 43% pre-2010 midterms.

Cool!
I’ll have to look that one up.
Let’s not forget that most important class of voters, dead people. Pollsters, rev up your Ouija boards.

I agree that if it goes lower and stays there, the DOW is an issue.
I feel the same way, kind of a shame we have Romney. But I’ll still take him over hussein.
Campaign Report; Gallup Poll Shows Carter Leads Reagan, 49 to 41%
Results; Reagan 489 Electoral, Carter 49.
There is plenty of time for that BEFORE the convention.
While some of the delegates are required to vote for romney in the first round, IF THEY VOTE. They DO have the option to abstain.
So, to say “we have what we have” is misleading. You are comfortable with nominating a socialist to “lead” the republican party. You are comfortable with increasing the power of the progressives in the GOP.
Romney doesn’t have to be an inevitability. The destruction of the GOP as the last form of opposition to socialism doesn’t have to be an inevitability.
But Ill tell you at least ONE thing that is inevitable, If the GOP nominates a socialist as its candidate for president I (and plenty of others who used to be the base of the gop) WILL work against your candidate during the general election. Because, if we are doomed to have a socialist president I would rather take the opportunity to DENY the socialists control over the GOP as well...
This isnt D -vs- R. This is WE -vs- Socialists.
You really dont like romney? OK, prove it... call for a brokered convention so we can choose a candidate we will ALL support. To do otherwise is to prove your just a RINO romneybot or woefully ignorant of the enemy and the battlefield.
I lurked at Daily Kos. Even they don't believe that poll.
If Obama is Toast , I think its a tragedy for the GOP to nominate a socialist as its candidate and once again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
F... Im waiting for Bill Clinton to declare that he now feels comfortable becoming a republican. Which, of course, says more about the death of the GOP as opposition to socialism than it says about any Clinton conversion.
I agree though... The rates are down (sort of) lets kick them with an anti-socialist candidate through a brokered convention.
oops.. rates = rats
friggen inline spell check...
Public polling was far more corrupt and agenda-driven then than it is now.
The polls showing Carter ahead were leftist lies attempting to limit the damage down-ballot.
I wish FR had an ignore function.
Yes, that is the floor.
