Covering all the bases ahead of a momentous Supreme Court ruling, the Obama administration plans to move ahead with major parts of the president's health care law if its most controversial provision does not survive, according to veteran Democrats closely involved with the legislation.

The Dream Act was defeated. We (those of us who were against it) worked hard to defeat it. With all of Romney's faults (and there are many) he did not have a monopoly on "Immigration Reform" and a desire to fix it and get the illegals on 'the right track to citizenship".
There were only two candidates who scored high with conservatives on this issue, Michelle Bachmann (who accepted Obama's first short form BC as legit) and Herman Cain.
As for Obama's power grab, the ball is now in Boehner's lap. He is our elected official and the phone calls should be going to him. Don't hold your breath.
Isn’t there a lot of ugly stuff in the bill that has nothing to do with health care? Seems I’ve been reading such on FR.
Jane, I’m sorry, I can’t find the dang thing over there either. I did see a reference to the interview on the sidebar of tweets, but I still couldn’t pull up anything.
I thought it was jolting enough to get some play, not vanish. However, so many democrats approve of Romney over Obama, maybe they thought it didn’t do him any favors so they nuked the darn thing. I have no explanation.
The Obamacare mandate forces individual commerce. It then fines you as an individual, if you do not buy the
“commercial” product (healthcare) from someone (an insurance provider/company).
Obamacare forces businesses to provide this commercial product which by law includes abortion services and all forms of birth control to employees.
Catholic institutions will not tolerate these inclusions in their insurance for employees, so Obamacare has defined what is “religious” and by doing so forces the product upon Catholic hospitals, schools and all manner of ministries.
Sebelius defines these institutions as NOT religious because they employ some non-Catholics and they serve non-Catholics.

Okay, Jane! FR loads so damn slow I couldn’t get to you fast enough. It’s on CNN Anderson Cooper now. The interview was from FAce the Nation and was shown on both Blitzer’s show and just now on Anderson. I am not crazy after all. Tune in.
Gloria Borger has nailed Romney. Romney is stuck with criticising Obama for his method on immigration, while avoiding the substance itself, which he sent Rubio out to collect on his fishing expedition on the subject this week.
We will watch the flames over method and watch Romney get to tap dance on that and never hear that he is FOR this amnesty business.
Ari said it was for “Hispanic kids”. The truth is reportedly from ages between 16 and 30.

I don’t know how to make this link “live” for you from my laptop. Any tips?
They should post this in all of their Hospitals, Soup Kitchens, etc that because of President Obama, this is what we have to do starting on this date. These places serve many people, and I bet Obama would back track immediately.
But the church won't, because they don't want to be seen as uncaring or not compassionate, which I completely understand. But it's time to play hardball, Catholic church, my church, because the POTUS is using your caring nature against you to force you to give up your religious conscience and fund Abortion. Call his bluff.
And if anyone thinks I'm telling my church to lie, because they'd never close their hospitals or stop helping the poor, maybe I am. But I'd rather lie then fund abortion because Obama says so.
I think liberals are aware that we are at a point where, through years of their emasculation of males in our schools, at work and in every other venue INCLUDING OUR MILITARY NOW WITH REPEAL OF DADT, there aren’t enough brave men remaining in America to revolt against the ‘Socialists masquerading as Democrats’ outright destruction of our Constitutional Republic.
I believe the Obama thing will be shot down by the SC on all manner of grounds, and am thankful that in this case sit five Catholics on the Court, four who get the picture on EXACTLY what is going on here with regard to the impact on Catholic Dogma, Doctrine, Tradition and Practice.
With that said, the mandate is patently unconstitutional by any reading of the Constitution and a reader would not even have to be religious to see that.
I believe you are right and the Church, with eyes wide open, is set to encourage if necessary, civil disobedience if the measures that affect religious liberty are not addressed and overturned. We received that directive in our church bulletin at Mass two Sundays ago.
FORTNIGHT begins June 21 through July Fourth. Prayer & Fasting & meetings and gatherings throughout all diocesees.
The Church will will not give an inch and see forced closings rather than elective closings of hospitals and schools and colleges. Surely, the government will back off, rather than round up and arrest a million Catholics who will neither close nor pay fines in hundreds of thousands PER DAY.
GOD, be with us.
Boy, do I so agree with you! We girls are running everything, one way or the other. Remember the old saying, “the hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world”?
That was when we were at home raising our children and revering our husbands and our God, rather than day caring the kids, for the sake of a “career”, so we can eat out, buy more push up bras, etc. Yikes.
Careful Rita people might suspect you think elections don't matter.
It is a lonely place but welcome to realville.
I know all that stuff. I thought there were ridiculously peripheral things in there that have nothing to do with health care. If any of those things stand, we are still screwed, unless the Court overturns the whole law. I hope those 9 people know what’s in there.
They'll just raid the Defense budget again.
On President Obama's health care law, which Democrats say was modeled after Romney's own plan in Massachusetts, Romney said federally, "it's unconstitutional," but added that "states have under their constitution the right to require people to either go to school, or get auto insurance, or in this case to get health insurance.
"We created a solution; Republicans and Democrats, business and labor in our state, we worked collaboratively," Romney continued. "The president instead on a very partisan basis jammed through a bill, didn't get a single Republican vote, didn't really try and work for a Republican vote...
"If I'm president we're going to stop 'Obamacare' in its tracks.
Hmmmm...FWIW.
Why even have a law?
Correction!:
Pelosi’s statement “that You have to pass it before You know whats in it! isn’t the stupidest statement!”
Pelosi’s Statement is one of the Most ARROGANT PROGRESSIVE DEMORAT STATEMENTS EVER MADE TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC!
You are correct however, it is also the Stupidest as well! I would love to write a book on the arrogance and stupidity of this evil and vile excuse for a woman! “Nancy Pelosi:
Treason, Arrogance, Corruption, Decay and Stupidity at It’s Worst!” would be the title of the Biography!
ya forgot co-conspirator.
