A GOP senator on the short list to be Mitt Romney's running mate is applauding President Obama's move to forgo deportations for some illegal immigrants.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said the more lenient policy is "welcome news" for those immigrants who will benefit, though he was quick to knock the administration for acting unilaterally.
Todays announcement will be welcome news for many of these kids desperate for an answer, but it is a short term answer to a long term problem," the Cuban-American Rubio said in a statement. "And by once again ignoring the Constitution and going around Congress, this short term policy will make it harder to find a balanced and responsible long term one.
Rubio's comments are a stark contrast to those coming from other Republicans, who are blasting the new rules as a threat to U.S. jobs and possibly illegal.
Rubio's remarks also further complicate the position of GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, who took a hard conservative stance against illegal immigrants amid the heat of the GOP primary but is now searching for ways to soften that stance in order to appeal to Hispanic voters, who will be vital in a number of swing states.

Finally. Someone who understands what Rubio actually said.
Read the actual statement!
Good Hunting... from Varmint Al
It reads to me that Rubio acknowledges that Obama’s violating the Constitution and operating outside his authority but Rubio’s willing to let it slide.
Very well said. Or in words that Marco Rubio would understand:
You really think he is going to come right out and say AMNESTY for the 30 year old children?
You and he are fooling no one.
Wow. Pretty much confirms all those growing doubts I had about Rubio over these past two years, going back to when he first winced over Brewer and the AZ bill. Another blasted enemy RINO who wants to join hands with the Dems to destroy what little is left of the country. Damn them all to hell!
Al see post #31 Rubio still wants amnesty. He will put the illeagal children before US children.

Marco's status is the same as that of Barry Soetoro, aka Barack Hussein Obama, who is NOT a Natural Born Citizen.
Not seen Al post here in a while, BTW. FReegards
It appears that former Freeper Pissant was ahead of the curve on this one.
...and guilt-driven eager to please crackers take in the neck...again. Our country is gone, folks.
Rubio just killed his chances at VP.
Checkmate Hatch you rino. I give you about 2 hours to slither out and say you were for this but you wanted congress to vote on it and this is egregious and an affront to process. This is your tar baby and you will pay for it at the ballot box.
I live less than sixty miles from Mexico. (I already feel like I live there.) Most of the Mexican people I know will not like this. The ones that are here will feel like their jobs could be taken by the flux of new ones coming across.
LOL at Rubio supporters...you got played like a frickin’ fiddle...he’s the ‘Tea Party’ candidate...ROTFLMAO! Put lipstick on this pig...let’s see you try.
i read it it says he is a traitor and and agrees with lawlesnes.
If he though it was wrong he should have said so actions have consequences.
Of course.
As far as I'm concerned, none of it means ANYTHING after he endorsed flooding the country with millions more democrat voters who will do their part to block anything resembling conservative reform on any issue, in DC and across the country.
He has sold out the entire conservative agenda for his own political benefit.
So the U.S. Constitutiton is toilet paper to Rubio.
Vote him out.
