Don’t look in my basement.
;)
Not that I would have ended up a criminal otherwise, but when I look back at those years I realize how lucky I was to grow up at the gun club. Most of the "old guys" that ran the place were WWII vets, we had a couple retired police officers, and just about any profession you could think of. It was a place where doctors hung out with mechanics, loggers were good friends with engineers.
Yes, there was a time when all men took part in the raising of boys, and we had a civil society.
Well, all those guns Holder shipped them are pretty well useless without bullets.
5,000 .38 Super rounds
This is a round very rarely seen these days, outside of competition shooting. USPSA/IPSC "race guns" are usually chambered for .38 Super, due to the fact that they can be classed as "major caliber" while having a much lower recoil than other major caliber rounds. And much safer than trying to load 9mm to major caliber power factors.
10mm would also be unusual for criminal use. I wonder if they actually busted a competition shooter - That amount of ammo for a competition shooter would last less than a month.
Mark
.38 Super has long been popular in Mexico, because the .45 was outlawed for civilian ownership as a “military” caliber.
10mm has a prestige factor for the bangers. In 2006 a Sheriff’s Deputy in my neck of the woods was killed by a thug with a Glock 10mm during a traffic stop. It’s seen as a macho round.
These rounds make sense if they were going to smuggle them into Mexico.
With primers, cases, and powder; all put together to make a cartridge... something useful in a firearm.
Interesting that they would have so much .38 Super. It’s not as common a caliber as 9mm or .45.
32k rounds is not a lot of ammo. I used to have more than that, until the tragic boating accident took almost half, after the flood that washed away the other half.
Drug cartels use .38 Super and 10mm? Something stinks about that right there.
.
Dang! Who woulda thought another person on here would have suffered a similar tragedy?
Holy crap! Another one! We are one unlucky bunch, it seems.
5000 rounds of 38 super. That seals the deal it was bound for sonora ....:o)
Or my old nickle plated 1911A1 el presidente in the same caliber.
Agree on the numbers. Pretty much a six month loadout for a regular 3 gun and IDPA shooter.
No fowtay?
You still have to own an El Presidente to get a NM drivers license ?
So is gold.
The BATFE thanks you for your transparency.
Our SWAT team will be there shortly.
