When I was growing up (at the gun club) we had a few pistol shooters that shot .38 super instead of .45 for the centerfire matches.

Not that I would have ended up a criminal otherwise, but when I look back at those years I realize how lucky I was to grow up at the gun club. Most of the "old guys" that ran the place were WWII vets, we had a couple retired police officers, and just about any profession you could think of. It was a place where doctors hung out with mechanics, loggers were good friends with engineers.

Yes, there was a time when all men took part in the raising of boys, and we had a civil society.
