A Texas father beat a man to death after catching him molesting his four-year-old daughter in a horse barn, The Houston Chronicle reports. The incident happened Saturday evening near Shiner, Texas.
Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon identified the victim as a 47-year-old man from Gonzales, Texas. He was reported dead at the scene, however, his name will not be released until his next of kin is notified

A variation on the theme from ‘A Time To Kill’.
“I’ll have another Shiner Bock.”
Me too, have some cold in the refrigerator. We can get it here in Ohio :)
I know, we’re all sick to death of this evil. I’m petite, but if I caught someone in the act, I’d make a victim out of him somehow myself! It might involve squeezing something until it burst, but I have no sympathy whatsoever for this human waste.
A shoulder into the small of the back and power drive him into or through a wall. That would be good odds for him being dead.
Unfortunately, he forgot the other two S’s. Shovel. Shut Up.
It looks like they came to their senses and edited the article. It now reads "Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon identified the deceased as a 47-year-old man from Gonzales, Texas."
Hmmm...interesting move. I would imagine that could rupture the abdominal aorta or perhaps break one’s vertebrae and crush the spinal cord.
It’s a good brew, I like it.
Thanks!
Would you rather sit back and let it happen to YOUR daughter?????
“...as by avenging...”
avenging implies actions after the event which was not the case here. The man lost his life while in the midst of committing a crime.
To blame this father is a sick interpretation of events. I would have done the exact same thing under similiar circumstances. Any good father would also. Kudo’s to the father, he did the right thing.
“Not especially easy to beat a man to death with your fists.”
I assume that it was the father’s barn.....cowboy’s/farmers make their living with their hands/strength. They are as tough as nails. Crossing them is taking your own life in your hands.
When you interrupt a crime in progress and take action to stop it, you are not a vigilante. A vigilante is one who takes action AFTER a crime has been committed, but ended.
There is a difference, one major difference - timing.
PS: If it were my daughter of granddaughter who was being attacked, I wouldn’t be thinking about “vigilantism”. I’d be thinking how can I kill this bastard ASAP.
That’s Obama’s Chicago, folks.
“After pulling the attacker off of her, the father repeatedly struck the man in the head.”
oh to be a horse fly on the wall!
He was in defense of his daughter. He was protecting his daughter from bodily harm when the father saw his 4 year old girl being sexually assaulted.
Self defense is not taking the law into your own hands. Acting on behalf of a four year old daughter isn’t either.
That daughter will grow up knowing that her father would do anything including laying down his life to protect her. Her entire life - she will know and understand what love, protection, and loyalty is.
I doubt that they will even indict.
It’s not vigilantism period. Forgiveness is not a legal issue in any case FWIW.
