It may come as a surprise to some of her fans, but Carrie Underwood has announced her support for gay marriage.
The devoutly Christian "Jesus, Take the Wheel" country singer spoke out to The Independent on why she believes marriage should be legal for all.
"As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry," Underwood, 29, explained. "I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love."
The American Idol winner was raised in a Baptist church, but now attends a non-denominational church with her hockey player husband, Mike Fisher.
"Our church is gay friendly," she said. "Above all, God wanted us to love others. It's not about setting rules, or [saying] 'everyone has to be like me'. No. We're all different. That's what makes us special. We have to love each other and get on with each other. It's not up to me to judge anybody."
And the Christian star from Oklahoma doesn't agree with "people who use the Bible for hate."
"That's not how I would want myself as a Christian to be represented."

She needs to read Galatians and several other parts of the Bible that clearly say homosexuality is a sin.
“Our church is gay friendly,” she said. “Above all, God wanted us to love others.”
IOW, we believe in feeling good about ourselves. Sin? Repent? Those things don’t feel good.
She must go to a perfectly modern American church...maybe she can sing their anthem:
“Feel Good! Fell Good! Feel Good!
Modern Man, Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall be about me!”
Thanks for the address. She is getting a note. I was a fan, but won’t buy her stuff anymore.
I need to watch those. Mark Kielar and Paul Washer are both great Calvinistic preachers of God’s Word. Another one I like is Jonathan Fisk(LCMS/Lutheran):

Carrie probably never read the Bible. She never learned it in school because it isn’t taught in public school. Her understanding is based on the carefully selected passages she got from her church instead of the whole picture.
Then perhaps, as a professed Christian, you should start representing Christ instead of yourself.
‘And the Christian star from Oklahoma doesn’t agree with “people who use the Bible for hate.”’
To that I wish to quote the great English Calvinistic Baptist preacher Charles Haddon Spurgeon-
“He who does not hate the false, does not love the true.’
NOO! I love Carrie Underwood, I rue the day we allowed those Damn Sodomites to even "Come out" into mainstream society.
Or my favorite anti-worship song:
All to meeeeeeeeeee
And none to Youuuuuuu
Goes the glory!!
It's not up to me to judge anybody."
And the Christian star from Oklahoma doesn't agree with "people who use the Bible for hate."
Sounds pretty judgemental.
“The devoutly Christian....”
Obviously not.
You might be surprised. I see nothing in the Constitution restricting gay marriage. Equal protection under the law.
Problem for Carey is people pay to hear her sing, not pontificate.
So sad.
NExt? NO shortage of blond gals in Nashville!~
I used to think of child molesters when Jesus spoke about the horrible millstone-around-the neck drowning fate of those who cause the little ones to stumble.
Now I see public school “teachers” who brainwash children with Marxism, and spiritually retarded nitwits like Carrie who pervert God’s truth and happen to have a some influence over people.
I can generate a little respect for those who vehemently deny God because they choose a lifestyle contrary to God’s ways.
Folks like that are also not causing any young followers of Christ to stumble.
People who think they are Christians but are not and pervert the Word are the worst.
I have no problem with my God exacting some mafia-style vengeance upon them.
They are destroying the Christian paradigm (Ethics) and replacing it with Pagan/Marxist/Wiccan/pantheism ethics—which allows slavery, pederasty, child sacrifice, etc.
It is unconstitutional since our Laws of Nature and Nature’s God would never conceive of such Rights which would be from Satan instead of the God-given Rights enshrined in our Legal system.
This sick “idea” destroys logic, reason, and science and is unjust and evil law.
I’ve run across Jonathan Fisk’s name somewhere, but I’ve never heard him preach. I will check him out. I’m addicted to sermonaudio.com so my iPod has hundreds of sermons waiting to be listened to, but I am sure I’ve got room for a few more.
The Cross TV production is particularly good. I got it on DVD and watched it with my oldest daughter earlier this year. I’m anxious for my other two to watch it. Right now we’re all going through R.C. Sproul’s DVD series on Luther and the Reformation.
Also, I won’t be going to Macy’s first, then Target to compare prices on her albums.
Romans 12:9:
“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.”
