Democrats Hit Romney on ‘Message of Wisconsin’ Comments (Democrats dumber than rocks)

Democrats sought to turn the tables on Mitt Romney Friday afternoon by seizing on comments he made in Iowa that suggested the country doesn’t need more firefighters, police or teachers.

Mr. Romney was responding to President Obama’s earlier remarks about the private economy’s being “fine.” In doing so, Mr. Romney dismissed Mr. Obama’s call for more aid to state and local governments.

“He wants another stimulus, he wants to hire more government workers,” Mr. Romney said of Mr. Obama. “He says we need more fireman, more policeman, more teachers. Did he not get the message of Wisconsin? The American people did. It’s time for us to cut back on government and help the American people.”

Democrats pounced on the comment, saying it proved that Mr. Romney would like to eliminate jobs for teachers, firefighters and police officers.

“Could Mitt Romney be any more disconnected from the concerns of middle-class Americans?” said R.T. Rybak, the vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee. “To suggest that police, firefighters and teachers aren’t helping the American people and aren’t vital to our communities shows that he has no clue what’s going on in the real world.”

Anyone with half a brain can see what needs to be done.

Unfortunately, the people we’ve elected don’t measure up to that minimum standard!

Obama believes that a country is more prosperous when the number of government employees is increasing.

A friend in Madison WI told me this: “I like to pay more taxes on my house, because it makes my house more valuable.”

Every law and program should have expiration date. At a certain point it would be null and void. If it is important enough to keep, then electors should have to go through the entire process of making it a law again.

The big ones Obama’s been hiring are IRS agents. Mitt should hit that.

“We make education happen.” ROTFLMAOPIMP!!! The ONLY thing you thugs accomplish is driving our property taxes thru the roof.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Seriously....Where is the **PROOF** that government schools teach anything? Really...This is a serious question.

Answer: Studies have NEVER NEVER NEVER been done that determine how much is learned in the classroom as compared to how much is due to ****AFTERSCHOOLING*** and **PRESCHOOLING*** done by the parents and child, himself, IN THE HOME!!!!!

Yes, I am shouting and jumping up and down. We spent up to a quarter of million or more per child for 13 years of government schooling and we do NOT NOT NOT know if it is effective or teaching the child anything at all!!!!

I started to question the effectiveness of schools when I noticed that there was little difference between academically successful children and those successful children who attended institutional schools. BOTH groups of successful children are spend the SAME amount of time IN THE HOME at the kitchen table or child’s desk STUDYING and doing projects IN THE HOME!!!! The only difference in the academically successful child and his parents are EXHAUSTED!

Perhaps the only thing that government schools are doing is testing of material learned IN THE HOME, and grading the projects and work done IN THE HOME! ....and providing very expensive babysitting.

If every government school in this nation were to shut down tomorrow the **same** kids who are being educated today would be educated tomorrow. The **same** kids who are not getting education today would be just as functionally illiterate and innumerate tomorrow!

Mandatory government (or government -approved) schooling was the first big step to socialism in the U.S.

Things would be even worse did not some people sacrifice to send their children to private and church schools or homeschool.

Do any “modern liberals” homeschool ?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

All it took to elect a Woodrow Wilson or a Franklin D. Roosevelt was one to three generations of children indoctrinated in socialist schools that fed them lukewarm and generic Protestantism or outright godless secularism.

My grandmother ( born 1894) thought Roosevelt was America's Savior. She attended government secular schools that occasional gave a nod to God. Well...If children are taught to think and reason godlessly in state schools they will worship the state and think the state is their god and redeemer.

California must have a similar breakdown in spending. Would love to know the exact percentages of our state. Where do you find this?

I went to a public town meeting of our township to discuss the budget, and they actually briefed the numbers. Amazing, isn't it?

I also learned that out of the meager 33% left of tax receipts that the town has leftover after the schools fleece their 67%, the state takes about 8% of the 33% - so there is a huge chunk gone. However, our town still pisses away taxpayer money like a dope dealer. We have "Public Safety Managers" for a small town that make 6 figures. We have fleets of vehicles that sit on a township lot unused. Basically, they spent their budget every year during the good years so they could justify a 6-7% increase in the budget for the next year. That was when home values were rising fast and the township could hike property taxes under the corrupt McGreevy and Corzine regimes. Under Christie, they are capped at 2% increase each year (which believe me they raise to the max each year).

Unreal. Can’t imagine our town would allow the numbers into the light of day, but I will at least go looking.
