Speaking at the North Carolina GOP Convention, Trump praised Romney for his business experience and promise to stand up against China and fight for American economic interests. But the business mogul also focused a portion of his speech on his questions about where President Obama was born. It is the reason why on Tuesday, when Romney earned the 1,144 delegates necessary to secure his party's nomination, much of the news cycle was devoted to his decision to appear with Trump at a fundraiser that day.
A desire by the media to protect Obama is the reason Trump told the more than 1,000 people gathered here that reporters are "really dishonest" and "the biggest thing Mitt Romney has to fear is the press. They don't tell the truth."
And during his address, Trump again used his appearance as a platform to question the president's birth certificate, the reason he has branded himself as a controversial figure on the national political scene. Calling for the president to release his college records, Trump said, "There is one line called place of birth, I'd like to see what he said..Perhaps it's going to say Hawaii, perhaps it's going to say Kenya."

“Actually, I am inclined to believe that the media is also the biggest threat to America.”
What makes the MSM so vile is that it has no interest in reporting straight up news or information from a variety of perspectives. Rather it is a purveyor of propaganda, the purpose of which is to “shape” the news to push its leftist agenda. To your point, for a democracy to function, we need a reasonably well informed populace. To the extent that the MSM deliberately fails in that respect, makes it is a dangerously deceptive enterprise.
“But the Magic Underpants may pull him through”
Let’s hope so. Four more disastrous years of “the alternative” is just too horrible to think about. The choice is essentially between electing a new president and coronating a dictator.
“he has run a brilliant campaign that is beating the pants off Barry”
Romney’s campaign has so far largely avoided self-inflicted mis-steps and traps sets by the opposition and their allies in the liberal attack media. And he has managed to stay on message (i.e., Obama has failed and we need to focus like a laser beam on revitalizing the US economy and get people back to work). Pretty impressive so far.
That's why the media is out to destroy him.
But Trump will trump the corrupt MSM any day.....he actually is quite popular with the common folk who like to listen to him....and this drives the elite corrupters of news absolutely wild...nay, RABID. He is making them froth at the mouth.
This keeps them from concentrating their froth on Romney.
I love it....Trump and Romney, the A-TEAM.....canny two-front strategery!

The Lamestream Media are the villains. As someone else posted on this thread, the media are the biggest threat to America and American values right now.
“But in this case, Romneys biggest liability is himself.”
No. In this case, (Trump raising some legitimate questions about ODumbo’s birth certificate), Romney has nothing to do with it. It's the media, who are trying to make it an issue for Romney.
Last time I watched the Stooges, none of them were trying to destroy our Nation.
I agree there aint much difference between the sack of Bammy and Rammy, but that is all the choice we have been given in this land of the free to pay your taxes or be enslaved.
He speaks the truth but I wish he wouldn’t speak. I don’t think the Donald helps Romney as much as he hurts him. Few people respect Trump and most know that the biggest reason he is getting involved in this race is because it gets his favorite person (himself) on TV. He’d endorse Obama in a heartbeat if he thought it would get him the attention his massive ego demands.
You are mistaken about Trump. The real reason he is supporting Romney, because he is very aware, much more than most people, of the “clear and present danger” Obama is to this country and the free enterprise system and that if he gets a second term, that will be the end of the USA, as we know it.
Most people, including many here, don’t grasp the damage Obama is doing to the country.
So how's this Obama thing working out for you?
Are you good for four more years?
“Most people, including many here, dont grasp the damage Obama is doing to the country.”
I think he is the most dangerous president in our history. We’ve had bad presidents who bungle things before but his regime is a threat to the existence of our republic.
So how's this Obama thing working out for you?
Are you good for four more years?
I agree and so does Team 'Rat.
They are panicking.
So how's this Obama thing working out for you?
Are you good for four more years?
I agree.
This week everybody has been talking about the contrast between Romney and McCain's campaign.
But what about the contrast with GWB's presidency? For eight years the leftists spewed the most hateful lies immaginable at Bush and he just sat there taking it.
Well, to hell with that!
That got us Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, 60 'Rat Senators, and Barack Hussein Obama.
F___ that!
We need a candidate and a President who knows the press are leftist scum, and knows that leftists tell evil lies constantly, and turns right back on them and says "No! You're wrong! The things you say and do are corrupt and don't work, and the things I'm doing are right and make sense and here's why."
If we have leaders who fight then we can get their message out. If our leaders just hang there like punching bags then we've got nothing to work with.
I agree that most people who are aware of Trump consider him a relentless self-promoter, but I don't think that is all they think he is.
Trump has his fans. My girlfriend is one. She is not very knowledgeable about politics, and she's not as conservative as I am, but she runs her own business and wants America to be prosperous and strong.
She thinks Trump is a funny, confident, pro free-market, pro-America guy and she likes him a lot and thinks he's kind of charming.
The media want to identify Trump solely with the eligibility issue, but Trump's millions of fans (he has had very popular TV shows) see him judging Hussein's job performance and finding it lacking.
I agree. Some here think that Romney's Mormonism is a threat that dwarfs every other consideration.
The Trayvonn thing reminded many Americans what it is they fear about ghettoizing America. The contraception stuff drove off otherwise Dem Catholics in droves. The "gay" thing completely alienated Barry's black base, and did (I think) far more damage to him than the drive-bys want to admit. Bain never was a real issue. Not only do Americans nor really "get" what venture capital does, it doesn't relate to the gas pump or the price of food. But debt does. Inflation does.
So I say, "Go TRUMP!" The more "birther" stuff that is out there, the more Americans really do ask, "Who the heck is this guy who appears to be a Muslim half the time?"
I heard Trump interviewed awhile back regarding Obamas dishonest book and the implications of it being written by Bill Ayers. He pointed out that the book was a critical tool to help get him elected.
