(CBS News) Showing his willingness to break from his party, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said on Friday he would accept $10 in spending cuts for every $1 in revenue increases and criticized activist Grover Norquist's no-tax pledge that most GOP lawmakers have signed.

Just Jeb being Jeb - or perhaps just a Bush being a Bush.
Het Jebbie, ask your father how he made out with his agreement with the Democraps for spending cuts? Where were you when your daddy made his NO-NEW-TAXES pledge?
Tax liberals. They’re the ones who want government spending. They should pay for what they want, just like in the real world.
This guy is eventually going to awaken the BushBots for another go-round. At that point I’ll once again be the great Satan, as I object.
Daddy Bush was CIA through and through.
I was thinking that Jeb was going to be picked as VP. I guess we will see if there is any truth to the rumors that the VP goes to the Bilderberg meetings.
Mitch Daniels was there.
It wouldn't be prudent, Jeb.
I believe Reagan fell for this kind of deal. You CAN’T TRUST THE DEMS!
Read my lips...
That’s fine. Just as long as Jeb is not the veep nominee and is not in any position of power, he can support whatever he wants.
I agree Bill. I voted for him as well, and he was a pretty decent guy as a Governor. However, all the Bush’s are Progressives so the results will always be
the same. Enough with the Bush Dynasty.
Jeb Bush is a scumbag and a coward. This is the same punk who got stared down by a freaking county probate judge and allowed the obscene, month-long, televised state execution (by starvation!) of a disabled woman.
I like George, but Jeb is a loser who should shut up and go away already.
Republicans becoming the tax collectors for the Democrats accomplish exactly one thing, they enable the next round of irresponsible Democrat spending. The promised spending cuts never happen and the deficit or debt never goes down.
How many times will the Lucy Democrats hold the football for the Charlie Brown Republicans before they learn?
I would accept that deal too as long as the tax increases come 2 years after the spending cuts and we can change our minds, just like the democrats did to Reagan with the deal they made with him.
Stay out the Bush’s. No more Bush’s ever. Fn rino faux conservatives.
The fact that he doesn't want this just means that 1) he's politically stupid when it comes to his supposed base (lib panderer), 2) he wants to use the relative "$1" in new taxes to implement social engineering nonsense (another lib favorite), 3) he wants to leave the door open to tax increases (read my lips) to allow raising them even more, or 4) all of the above.
If it's an option at all, it becomes an obvious bargaining chip to "negotiate" with libs - perhaps resulting in $2 or $3 dollars confiscated from tax payers for every $5 or $6 cut, or probably even worse. We all know what spineless fiscal jellyfish most Repubs really are when it comes down to it. Yep, he's just another lib RINO.
Jeb, like his brother is NO conservative.
When I hear talk of him running as V.P. with this Rino horses ass Romney I want to puke.
If that is what he said, then it just shows how little Rebecca Kaplan and her headline writer really know about the issue.
One can raise revenues without raising taxes.
I didn't read the piece, but I am also willing to bet Jeb realizes Demonrats will NEVER follow through with their part of the deal: so the question is really moot.
Jeb remembers how his dad got burned by DICK Gephardt and the other 'rats.
Stop and think!
What he is doing is calling the Dems’ bluff.
“he would accept $10 in spending cuts for every $1 in revenue increases”
A 10 to 1 ratio for spending cuts vs tax increases!!!
He keeps this up he is a shoe-in for RINOmney's VP pick.
