“...China has already destroyed most of our U.S. manufacturing ability. ...”
China didn’t do it by themselves - “American” businessmen and politicians LET them buy up our technology, our manufacturing capability, and so forth.
They couldn’t do ANYTHING to us, unless they were enabled to do so by people within our own walls.
They took advantage of the opportunities that greedy - and traitorous - people right here amongst us provided.
A simple policy shift of “No, you can’t buy this;” “No, we won’t trade that with you;” and “No, you are forbidden from owning property here;” and none of this would have happened. We did that once upon a time. It worked.
I guess that’s protectionism, but when it comes to dealing with communist/socialist governments, it’s basic common sense self-defense.
That system can’t survive on its own unless it’s parasiting off of a capitalist host society.
The TRUE enemy in this is right here, in our own country, who perpetuate this one-sided bleeding out.
What did Marx say - “The last capitalist we hang shall be the one who sold us the rope.?”
