Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.; Cardinal Donald Wuerl, the Catholic archbishop of Washington.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Former GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich; Gov. Martin O'Malley, D-Md.; Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind.; Ed Gillespie, adviser to Mitt Romney's presidential campaign; Robert Gibbs, adviser to President Barack Obama's re-election campaign.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Defense Secretary Leon Panetta.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash.; Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla.; former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani; Peter Chiarelli, retired Army vice chief of staff; Paul Rieckhoff, executive director and founder of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America; Tim Tetz, legislative director of the American Legion.
Chrissy opened with the right wing extremist and I immediately switched to ABC to watch Peon Patheta, who at least may speak a truth from time to time, despite his communist boss.
MTP
O’Malley (D) says that Obama created more jobs last year than Bush did in 8 years.
Gingrich (R) [crickets chirp]
==
GOP are going to have to find an effective counter to that claim, because several Dems have used it on news programs recently and they have gone unchallenged on that claim.
He makes about the strongest case in taking on Obama's assault on Religious Liberty.
Case in point, watch this!
Take away the stupid people who are liberal and the ones who lie and there are few left.
No one ever asks them for details. What jobs did they create? Solyndra? Bankruptcy attorneys? Race greivance counselors?
Besides, while he was creating those jobs (if he even did) how many did he DESTROY at the same time?
"When President Obama came to Chicago recently, he stayed at a hotel....instead of his own house.
But when he asked for a wake-up call, they showed him his poll numbers."
Cardinal Wuerl made a great case of the mandate being about Freedom of Religion and didn’t sway from that message. He even tied it to the Memorial Day celebration that these men died for that Right. Well done.
Happy Memorial Day
That entire group of worthless statist creeps could fall off the end of the earth and we would all be better off!
Kirsten Powers is wearing a cross today. Hope it doesn’t leave a burn.
Pray for our Military
Brilliant and succinct as always!
Did not watch MTP but I’m shocked that Gingrich did not hit back (O’Malley) on the “Obowmao created more jobs...” lie. Of ALL Repubs who I’d expect to hit back, it’d be Newt. Disappointed if he let that lie get by unchallenged.
Thanks RG, I got a kick out of Dirt Worshipers.
Your essay had particular meaning for me today as I go to a liberal church and the summer Bible study is a book by Diana Butler Bass. I don’t know if you know her, but your essay describes her to a T.
I will not be spending my summer with this woman although I love my Bible class.
Just watched MTP with DNC Dave, typical chatting points event.
Overall, DNC Dave kept trying to shift the discussion to Bain/Romney and class warfare while Newt brought it back the the short comings of ozero every time. Must have really made DNC Dave crazy!
Newt is brilliant in in this type of format. Few can challenge him and not walk away without a sore ass.
DNC Dave starting the interview is very careful to stay away from anything that will effect zero. The DBM rule is not to make it any worse for the regime than it already is. Go after Romney all the time is the name of the game.
Newt points out the huge failure of zeros green initiative with bankrupt firms after firm littering the landscape using govt./our money to get there as well.
The entire discussion had a background of Govt./public money investment/worth vs. private investment/worth via capitalism. In the end it became obvious the two different takes.
Our side thinks private investment is the path to the future while the left wants even more govt. spending on infrastructure, education and all the many rat holes where money we don't have can be strewn/wasted and even more votes can be bought. Newt missed a golden opportunity here to blast the left for running up trillions in govt. spending and continually borrowing even more money we don't have that even our kids will not be able to pay off.
This show illustrates why talk radio is so powerful, especially with Rush, they have the time.
The segment evolved into a huge expose of who the two different sides really are. We the capitalists, they the socialists, little question as the segment evolved.
Newt dares zero to pick a fight on the economy, jobs or debt. O'malley blames all the countries problems on obstructionist pubbies and the Tea Party.
Unfortunately this claim goes unrefuted,no time to refute everything on tv. We can do it here however. Truth is zero would never ever compromise with any of our ideas. It's always been his way or the highway--example no budget for over 1,000 days--zero always giving the job of dealing with Congress to someone else since he is incompetent to deal with big boys being a Manchurian.
As the discussion continues its apparent the libs want it both ways on private equity. They want to demagogue Romney and Bain while taking money from the very same companies. O'malley thinks he is slick enough to talk his way out of that one but he isn't.
THe topic of what is zero running on comes up and Newt points out that he can't run om jobs, debt or policy and really has only going after us to run on.
O'Malley reaches a frustration point and has to go on "how Bush era policy put us here. No mention of Barney Frank Franklin Raines or all those dems and the dem Congress since 06 that truly brought us here. Even tarp was repaid back never a mention of that either.
If these guys couldn't lie, spin and prevaricate they would fold in a day.
Obviously losing to Newt dnc dave makes a really quick departure from the economy issues to immigration and how the Hispanics will all go for the handouts of the regime. Newt points out that they have the same worries as any other Americans. Jobs, housing and energy which are miserable failures of the left.
Closing out Newt says he has no regrets running only that he didn't have more money. He's not a sore loser and has moved on unlike so many Freepers here.
I decided not to bother with Fox News Sunday today, but am taping Meet the Press to watch after church.
It will be interesting to see what Newt has to say about the election and how enthusiastic he is in supporting/praising Romney.
All credit goes to you your essays are at a level that few can compete with.Thank God you are on our side!
I just heard about that LOST thing yesterday for the first time ... think it was a guest on Fox News.
What a horrible treaty. And how ridiculous to have any treaty with the U.N.
Not surprised McCain is for it.
Gotta say I like our candidate this go round better than McCain.
McCain has a streak of craziness combined with stubbornness that makes him totally unreliable.
When the comics start in on you ... it might mean something???
Hope so.
You just gotta wonder if the biggest story of the week will even be mentioned on the DBM shows. Its here of course.
Kinda hard to walk back from this one,but then I’m an unqualified birther so what do I know.
