Obama keeps trying to be greatly and strikingly lefty, but only succeeds in looking like a klutz. This doubtless underwhelms Willie.
From the Washington Times, April 30, 2012:
New Obama slogan [FORWARD] has long ties to Marxism, socialism
[snip]
Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has [since deleted] an entire section called "Forward (generic name of socialist publications)."
"The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications," the online encyclopedia explains.
The slogan "Forward!" reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.
The Obama campaign released its new campaign slogan Monday in a 7-minute video. The title card has simply the word "Forward" with the "O" having the familiar Obama logo from 2008. It will be played at rallies this weekend that mark the Obama re-election campaign's official beginning. ..."
Back in the 1970s, my Dad was a regional distributor for a large fireworks company in CA. Every so often the dems in the state Assembly would attempt to ban everything including sparklers state-wide. Dad would attend some of those Assembly meetings to get a look at who the antagonists were. At the forefront of that ban-everything effort was Willie Brown, who`d rail on about “people not needin` no fireworks.”
Not necessarily a big deal to most people except during the 4th of July, but for those whose livelihoods depended on that industry, it mattered greatly.
So color is not the issue anylonger? So they can all agree they miss the thrill of American Idol. Brings light to the phrase “stupid Americans”
Willie Brown never liked Obama in the first place. This is not significant.
No, but the comments from the readers are significant.
I’m sitting in Columbus, Ohio typing this on Sunday AM. We just drove up from Wilmington, NC to attend a grandson’s baseball Tourney. On the trip up here of 9.5 hours I saw (and I looked) exactly 1 (that’s 1) Obama 2012 bumper sticker.
We’re heading out tomorrow over to Quantico, Va for a few days and then back to NC and I will be counting all the way.
“I can’t think of anything that should have him in that role, but he’s acting like the underdog.”
Really? How about the fact that most people that aren’t employed by the government at some level are MUCH worse off than 4 years ago?
I saw a bumper sticker with the “Forward” sign and underneath something like “their mail in 2013”. LOL
It’s all a B.S. set up for when the Dems have their convention and the final night in the football stadium...then..the media goes into overdrive for him after they shuttle everyone in from Raleigh.
You bring back many memories with that one. Chinese firecrackers, Cherry bombs, bottle rockets etc etc. Too much fun. It was as you say, after that, we had to drive out to the desert or even Nevada to purchase. July 4 was never the same!
Of course they were illegal in our county so I swear I never ever did participate and I promised not to do it again. /s
Based on this he needs glasses if that’s the case: “I can’t think of anything that should have him in that role, but he’s acting like the underdog.”
LOL! That's a great pic.
Matthews blew a gasket last week over his epic "Thrill Up The Leg" comment. He said he is "tired" of being reminded of it, which means we have to remind him and the media of the embarrassment every chance we get. It is unconscionable that the media has allowed The Community Organizer into the White House in the first place, and journalistic malpractice that they have not exposed The Narcissist for what he is.
Yeah, ol’ Willie generally know what he’s talking about in Rat politics.
The only thrill left is in Chrissy Matthews thigh.
LOL!
I get lots of thumbs up and people wanting to know where I got it.
