Neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman made statements to police that help establish his guilt in the second-degree murder case against him for killing unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin, prosecutors said in a court filing on Thursday.
The claim came in a motion by prosecutors to keep some of Zimmerman's statements under seal pending his trial in a case that triggered civil rights protests across the United States, while sparking widespread debate over guns, self-defense laws and U.S. race relations.
"Defendant (Zimmerman) has provided law enforcement with numerous statements, some of which are contradictory, and are inconsistent with the physical evidence and statements of witnesses," the prosecutors said in their court filing.
They said the statements by Zimmerman were admissible in court and "in conjunction with other statements and evidence help to establish defendant's guilt in this case."
The court filing offered no details about the statements Zimmerman made to police or other law enforcement officials. It said Florida's public records law had no provision requiring "the disclosure of a confession" of a defendant....

Zim offeed a friggin urban predator. Good for him!
Yeah. If anyone wanders out of their little cu-de-sac, they need to be offed. Isn’t this a great country!!!
Nothing in the Oklahoma media? Nothing?
Sounds to me like a simple ploy to try and insure that a trial is held. The prosecutors know they will lose, and they want to make sure that a civil case will go forward.
I'm not so sure about that. Yes, I agree that "new" evidence will be declared to be produced, but so far even the prosecutor's compelling evidence produced so far is nothing more than hearsay & opinions. If the only evidence the prosecutor can introduce is inflammatory hearsay evidence, she cannot build a case on opinion & hearsay. All the evidence (Zimmerman's beating, the photos, the 911 transcript) validates & corraborates Zimmerman's account of what happened, including the only eye witness who saw Martin on top of Zimmerman, beating him.
If this trial did not have the black race baiting threats & violence, this would have already been thrown out. As it is, the judge in the case is a panty waist as well, because he should have the guts to declare the prosecution's case is invalid and so weak as to be thrown out immediately.
“Nifong 2.0 coming up.”
It sure as hell better be.
That little POS got exactly what he deserved considering the known facts.
If what we know is the truth, then Zimmerman simply proved that yes, this is a great country, you can defend your life without fear of being prosecuted by your own government, or wrongly sued for using lethal force to stop a thug from possibly maiming or killing you.
I’d give the judge a little more slack. He’s not yet been presented with any motions to dismiss.
That point was debated on one of the threads. I'm pretty sure Z said he was looking for an address, not a street sign. I don't have a link handy, but there is a recording of it.
GZ is being tried in media so that the obvious railroading during the trial will not be as noticeable. I fear he is being prepared as a blood sacrifice. His survival time in a prison, among an unfavorable demographic, would be measured in hours.
Good point! Probably Zimmerman’s lawyer wants all the evidence produced by the prosecutor, so that if a motion to dismiss is made, at least it will be obvious (to sane people, not the race-baiters or lefties) that this case had nothing to stand on.
NBC absolutely HAS to have this as a true thing.. They shaped the sheep’s opinion so they HAVE to see it through... I will rejoice when NBC/Comcast is destroyed. Literally. They are a domestic terrorist organization and should be treated as such....
Zimmerman claimed self-defense. That’s an affirmative defense, as in, “yes, I killed him. I had no choice.”
Chris Serino, the lead investigator, actually recommended a capias for the charge of manslaughter in March.
Does the judge get to see this evidence at the pretrial hearing when Z has a chance to get the case dismissed, or does the prosecution merely have to state that they have compelling evidence that won’t be released until the trail?
I’m sure the judge will have access to all of it, but this seems like a stunt to pressure the judge into making sure this goes to trial.
Here’s a link to the transcript of the 911 call. It’s near the top of page 3 where the dispatcher asks him for an address - https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/326700-full-transcript-zimmerman.html
Zimmerman: I don't know, it's a cut through so I don't know the address
You're aware that little Trayvon appears to be a member of Fight Club, aren't you?
Are you willfully stupid all the time?
