The founder of the Organic Pastures business in California is reporting that government health officials have begun tracking down the names and addresses of natural-foods customers and showing up at their homes, demanding to confiscate any raw milk they might have.
The dispute over raw milk has reached a fever pitch in recent weeks, with a judge ruling that owners of cows have no right to the milk their herds produce, and protests being staged by mad moms whose access to such foods is being threatened.
The latest report is at NaturalNews.com, which interviewed McAfee.
The report said Los Angeles County health department officials have unleashed door-to-door raw milk confiscation teams to threaten and intimidate raw dairy customers into surrendering raw milk products they legally purchased and own.
According to Mark McAfee, both L.A. County and San Diego County have attempted to acquire customer names and addresses from Organic Pastures for the sole purpose of sending food confiscation teams to customers homes to remove the raw milk from customers refrigerators.
NaturalNews.com quoted from one of McAfees reports:
I received a phone call yesterday morning from a wonderful young gal, a 36-year-old mom out of LA County. Shes one of our UPS customers that we deliver overnight raw milk to her house. When the CDFA was in here the other day on our recall, they demanded to have all our delivery addresses for overnight UPS delivery. We screwed up and [inadvertently] gave it to them, they got it from one of our secretaries here. The LA County health department started calling her, six or seven times, demanding that she give up her raw milk from her own home to the health department.

Its ok to drink raw milk as long as you had a rabies shot.
Where in the world did you get that idea..........It’s false.
Funny thing about your tagline now is that ‘Humanist’ used to be a person who ascribed to the notion that man is the highest/crowning-jewel of God’s creation.
That is ironic about “humanism”. Humanists hate people. They love “humanity” in the abstract, but hate people.
I explained it to my kids this way - it has to do with where your source of truth comes from.
A theist recognizes that truth is reality as God sees it.
A humanist derives truth from human reason alone.
Well does the government admit that you own the cows? If not, then they can feed them and pay for their vet expenses! sarc/off
No. It’s the prettiest state in our country. They can’t have it. We have to recapture it. I propose it be busted down to territorial status until it can govern itself. Though that might not be a good precedent to set.
I spent the first 18 years of my life drinking huge amounts of Alta-Dena Dairy raw mik and never got sick from it...don’t know if they’re still around but their milk tasted great, always delivered in the mornings to our door.

Only a couple of people die per year of rabies in the US. For all I know, the handful whose exposure to rabies was not traced back to an animal bite got it from drinking raw milk of a rabid cow. It is SOP to track down people who are known to have consumed raw milk from rabid cows and administer the prophylaxis. This happens every few years.
There is little scientific literature on whether rabies virus has been definitively identified in rabid cow's milk. However, that means little: the most recent human survivor of rabies never did have a lab test that definitively demonstrated rabies; the lab tests were all inconclusive. She was diagnosed based on symptoms. The only way to be sure of finding rabies virus is by the same method that has been used for decades: examination of brain tissue collected post-mortem.
According to this article, in countries where there are far more rabies cases than in the US, transmission of rabies from mother to infant through breast milk has been documented. There is, therefore, no reason to think rabies couldn't be transmitted through raw cow milk. Pasteurization kills the rabies virus; in the countries where rabies runs rampant, milk is typically boiled before use, so rabies transmission through the consumption of raw milk has not been observed.
Then you have been lucky. Other people have become deathly ill after consuming raw milk for the first time. The laws of probability predict that both extreme outcomes (never getting ill, and dying after the first time one consumes raw milk) will happen at a low rate; for the vast majority of people consuming raw milk, the chance of becoming ill is more or less proportional to the amount of milk consumed.
To put probability into perspective: coins have a 50% chance of falling head side up. But it is not impossible to shake up 20 coins in a cup, dump them on the table, and they all fall head side up.
When I was a kid, my mother went through a phase where she had read of the supposed wonder-qualities of raw milk, and started buying it for a few months. That phase ended when she was drinking a glass of milk and found a dead fly in it. Thank goodness--even if raw milk were safe, the taste of it is something that definitely takes getting used to. (I didn't care for it.)
Drango,
You’re good with this right? It is afterall the logical end to your endorsement of controlling what individuals consume.....
More people die from falling trees. Maybe we should ban those.
