As President Obama and likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney remain locked in a virtual dead heat, is there any room for a third party to make a statement or even be competitive in 2012?
Thats the hope of the Constitution Party and its nominee, Virgil Goode.
Goode says Obamas spending is completely out of control but Republican proposals are also not good enough because he says the budget needs to be balanced now and not in a few years or a couple of generations from now.
I would submit a balanced budget if elected president, and it would be painful, Goode told WND.
He expects a fierce fight with Congress about cutting spending, but his plan would not focus on entitlement reforms. Instead, Goode envisions big cuts in discretionary spending both in the defense and domestic portions of the budget. When it comes to jobs, Goodes top priorities are to end illegal immigration and nearly put a stop to legal immigration in order to prevent foreign workers from competing with Americans for the job opportunities that exist.
Weve got to focus on discretionary spending, social-services programs. For instance, Ill make sure illegals and recent immigrants dont get food stamps, said Goode.
Goode says he would also seek to repeal Obama administration regulations that he says are stifling job creation. He would start with the Obama health care-laws which Goode considers the most repressive to job creators. The former congressman says he is not a spoiler in the race but is a much needed voice on fiscal responsibility, ending government programs for illegal immigrants and other issues.

Nicely put.
This is what it really comes down to.
The Free Republic He-Man Mitt Haters Club exists on a planet that is created in the moment by their own rhetoric.
In the real world Romney is not even the most liberal Governor of MA this decade.
Hysteria and delusion and lies are no way to keep a Republic.
Not true.
I have shown by his record that Romney is a liberal and for whatever reason you have fit to call me a liar on the evidence.
Not true.
You are now apparently asserting that Romney will be more conservative that BHO as president, there is no evidence by word or deed that can demonstrate that Romney is capable of being anything but a liberal.
Not true.

I wonder how much of this hysteria is just moles feeding a fire.
The democrats have used such vote splitting dead enders to be a sacrificial anode and attract weak minded conservatives.
The fact of the matter is whoever is president still has to deal with congress. A dunsel like a third party candidate has ZERO chance in hell of accomplishing anything.
This comic book character is just a way for the left to keep the libertarians and paulistas out of being relavent in the race.
Name one other governor who instituted “gay” “marriage,” homosexualized state government and the public schools, socialized medicine, complete with $50 co-pay taxpayer-funded abortions, and permanently banned guns.
EV apparently evidence of record and deed means nothing, once you have been tagged as a Romney hater.
The evidence of record and deed is dismissed as distortion and or out right lies.
The key is the congress.
Take a veto proof majority and a 60+ supermajority in the senate and you push any president to the conservative.
With super majorities you will get the federal marriage amendment (modeled on NC’s)
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. - 2 Timothy 3:1-5
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. - Romans 1:21-27
I aver it does no good for people who do not take God seriously to pray for the healing of this country. We need Spiritual renewal first; we must be convicted of our sins to turn from our wicked ways.
As long as Americans are mostly not believing God, the country will continue to decline because it is way beyond anything that can be repaired by mere mortal men.
The one thing I was praying for throughout the primary was a President who would kneel on his knees before God, one I could join in pray for this country. Perry was my guy because he had a history of doing just that. But it was not to be.
God has another plan. And He has been known to use even pagans to accomplish His will, e.g. Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar - and people who are set against His will, e.g. Herod, Caiaphas and obviously, Paul.
Future events are obscured from me and I have no apparently viable potential President to join in prayer. Obama doesn't kneel and pray to God - and his administration is the most anti-Christian, anti-Israel, pro-Islam known to me. And I do not recognize the God of LDS teaching, so I cannot join in Romney's prayers either.
But I can and do join in prayer with you and my other brothers and sisters in Christ who take God seriously even though we are not unified (yet) in how to vote this year.
People of good conscience before God can disagree. God can also use those disagreements to accomplish His will as He did with Paul and Barnabas.
Again, this country is way beyond anything that can be repaired by mere mortal men - then again, maybe it is not to be repaired.
Maranatha, Jesus!!!
Romney liberal - since the beginning (look at my posting history)
Romney’s record - (as posted on this thread) posts 34-36, 177, 178, 187 (just to name a few)
See post 272, where you now deny you said it
What really boggles anyone’s mind is that you live in California apparently, so your vote for Romney will mean nothing in your rabid support of him.
Good bye fellow Californian.
I will not vote for a liberal, you do what you want.
Excellent point, so_real!
I am thinking you pretend, for the sake of your argument, that you don’t know the difference between measures of daily sin in which we all stand guilty and imperfect, from outright evils that cause death and destruction, evils that Romney and Obama both promote and both facilitated equally, with both hands; forced abortion services, forced child adoption to queers, forced payment of religious institutions for abortion services offered by their insurer. Catholics ARE their insurer. They are their own insurer.
You want to give Romney a pass, under the cover of saying that no nominee is perfect, or sinless, and that Obama guy is worse.
We are saying that Obama has done little evil that Romney hasn’t already done first. Our party knew all this when they funded Romney and quietly lined up favors and support for him and against all others.
Why do they do this to us? Because the voters are rubes and dunces, easily manipulated. Germany is an excellent example. Few among the people recognized thay were being eased into facilitating themselves the greater evils coming.
Thanks for the clarification. *Some* are rubes and dunces.
We are quite in the minority among the broader electorate, but I am so proud not to fit in, to be among this devout and patriotic little minority.
Many pray to God in Heaven to *save* this nation, to spare us, to turn us around and restore us and those Godly intentions which were laid by our forefathers, in blood, for the Republic. Then we turn around and think we are serving God by voting for Romney’s works, which are well known to all to be ananthema to God’s Truth.
How can God even work in such a people? We are so adverse to the smallest risk that we will not unify and stand up for clarity and truth, and simply and humbly trust in God for the rest.
Obama 2.0 is a small price to pay if by our standing up against two perveyors of evil should deign to please God, He will then intervene and reward us for our sacrifice and our trust in His Name.
Rebellion is hard, and it’s scary. But, we are the resistance.
Just did a very quick internet search on “how many people supported the American Revolution”.
The majority were “neutral”, about 10-15% loyal to GB.
Only 30-35% were on board with the concept, out of those only about a third did anything about it.
Not so much different than today.
“We stand a VERY good chance of having Republican majorities in the House and Senate. I would rather have a Republican Moderate President to approve Paul Ryans budgets than a Communist with media backing fighting us every inch of the way.”
***
You have far more confidence in Congress than I. No matter who has the majority, nothing gets done. Too much of the same old, same old. Fresh ideas and thinking outside the box doesn’t go over well with the entrenched elites of either party. And who really qualifies as a conservative? I’ve seen too many supposedly conservative members come out in support of Romney. I don’t trust any of them.
And in trying to come up with suitable candidates for newly opened seats — who is going to do the screening? I don’t trust the Tea Party to do it, especially since a number of the party’s members and leaders are or have been in the tank for Romney. Sadly, even the Tea Party is infested with liberals.
Even if, by some miracle, Romney becomes President, I don’t trust him to do the right thing and sign off on the Ryan plan or whatever budget is produced. Somehow, someway he will nix any good ideas. He can claim to be a conservative all he wants, but he will never be one.
