Delivering a eulogy to his estranged wife Mary, Mr Kennedy, the son of the assassinated attorney-general Robert F Kennedy and nephew of President John F Kennedy, spoke of her troubled life and admitted that she resented him for asking her to give up her career to have children.
Mary Richardson Kennedy’s family went to court on Friday to try to stop her being interred in a Kennedy family plot in Centerville, Massachusetts.
But the burial went ahead following a funeral service at St Patrick’s Church in Bedford, New York, attended by stars including the actors Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Glenn Close, Susan Sarandon and Larry David, and the tennis champion John McEnroe.
Representatives from the Kennedy clan included Ethel Kennedy, Mr Kennedy’s mother and RFK’s widow, Caroline Kennedy, President Kennedy’s daughter, and Maria Shriver, another cousin, who is married but separated from Arnold Schwarzenegger, the actor turned California governor.
In his tearful eulogy, twice-married Mr Kennedy told mourners how his troubled wife had telephoned him the day before she was found hanging from a barn in the home they once shared in upstate New York.
He said: “The day before she died, she called me and said, 'You know me better than anyone in the world’. She said, 'I was such a good girl’. I said, 'I know you are and you still are’. She really fought so hard. She had these demons, and she didn’t deserve it. I know I did everything I could to help her.”
Mrs Kennedy’s friends have suggested that she was distraught at the separation from her husband, who filed for divorce in 2010 and is now in a relationship with Cheryl Hines, the star of the television show Curb Your Enthusiasm, but had not completed the process.

and I noticed the Press didn't use Caroline Kennedy's married name..I think she is also divorced...
It is said the whole family had shut her out of visiting Hyannisport once the divorce was announced. She was, in effect, blackballed from the(Kennedy)family events. It’s no wonder her family didn’t want her buried up there.

The suicide of Mary Richardson Kennedy continues to shock the 52-year-old’s family and friends, many of whom are blaming her estranged husband, Robert Kennedy Jr., for her decline since he filed for divorce in May 2010. She will reportedly be buried at a cemetery near the Kennedy compound in Hyannisport, Massachusetts, but a friend told the Daily News, “Hyannisport? You mean the place from which she had been virtually banned for the past two years?”

Apparently she had fallen into credit card debt (enough for American Express to file a civil suit) and another family friend said, “He was going for full custody of the kids, which broke her heart. She also had been part of the Kennedy family for 30 years. And now she was being cast aside by them.” Mary Kennedy’s problems with alcohol and prescription drugs grew, and the Post reports she had “threaten[ed] suicide so often that the family staged an intervention, another friend said.” A source said, “There were times when she had to be taken to the hospital when she would be acting irrationally and threatening to hurt herself.”

Suicide Divides Kennedy Relatives
Battle lines had been drawn before Mary Richardson Kennedy’s suicide, but the feud between her family and the Kennedy clan grew more bitter Thursday. After being barred from entering the deceased woman’s house Wednesday by Robert Kennedy Jr., two of her sisters received permission from local police to enter the house and retrieve personal belongings Thursday. Kennedy and his wife had been estranged since he filed for divorce in 2010, and as the split was still not final, Kennedy has taken charge of funeral proceedings, planning a wake for Friday and rite of Christian burial on Saturday in Hyannisport. Mary Kennedy’s sisters, however, are planning a separate service scheduled for Monday in Manhattan.

I don’t know squat about the Kennedy dude but I know for a fact that my father paid off the catholic church to get an annulment from my mom. It was a $1000 “donation” straight to the Monsignor at St. Monica’s church in Santa Monica, CA.
Don’t know the Kennedy facts but it sure does happen.
For crying out loud, why didn’t he just drown her in a river off a bridge. He ain’t no Kennedy.
