“Will Smith” was trending on Twitter this morning as people reacted to news that the actor lightly backhanded a male reporter who tried to plant a big, juicy kiss on his mouth.

TMZ reported, “You can clearly see that Will is incredibly pissed that the guy showed overt affection toward him.”

Overt affection? Some dude Smith didn’t know invaded his personal space without consent. Gay or straight, as Smith said, “He’s lucky I didn’t sucker punch him.”

And Smith thought “girls ain’t nothing but trouble.” Sheesh.

From the video and Will’s statement in the video, the reporter tried to kiss him on the lips. . .yuck.

This was not the usual peck-on-the-(face) cheek that wimpy Euro’s do. This was an attempted full frontal homo kiss by the reporter who, no doubt, is a homo and wanted to get a picture of him smooching Will.

I have to take a stance on your “wimpy European” mention. Its culture in many places for men to kiss men at a greeting among friends. When I visit my French friend’s restaurant I sometimes give him a proper French greeting. There is a huge difference between culture and just being gay.

The whole kiss-on-the-cheek thing is creepy. But Euro’s do it so let them do it among themselves. We are Americans and don’t do it. So, in respect to the American culture, don’t do the kissy-face thing on an American.

Hey. . .here’s a thought. . .Americans are always told by the Euros to respect and tolerate Euro cultures, so, I say it’s time they honored and respected ours.

I have to say, it has happened to me a couple of times and it is always startling and off-putting. Eastern Europeans already tend to crowd our sense of personal space anyway, then to suddenly be grappled and given robust, whiskery kisses on the cheek is disconcerting, to say the least.

It was cheek at first but then at the last second he tried to lip lock. That's when he got shoved back and slapped.

Watch it at 2 - 3 seconds. I -think- the Ukrainian was trying to cross over from the one cheek to the other. Will Smith was struggling and they brushed lips by accident. I think.
