A man happy to let others embellish his background to separate himself from his peer group to his advantage now wants to be the final arbiter on fairness in America.
The Breitbart Crew are kind of like illegal immigrants doing reporting Columbia journalism grads wont do. And doing it quite well.
The Breitbart Crew has done the world a very valuable service in finding a 1991 biography of Barack Obama from his literary agent claiming he was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.
Our own Jeff Emanuel also pointed out a 2004 Associated Press article that began, Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.
I do not believe Barack Obama was born in Kenya. I dont think it matters even if he were born overseas because his mother was an American citizen. Im not going to debate it with the cult of birtherism.
But the Breitbart Crew has, only a few days after the Obama White House was caught editing the biographies of other Presidents on the White House website to insert Barack Obama into their Presidential legacies, done an invaluable service in highlighting two very important issues.
First, as someone who has written a book, I find Barack Obamas literary agents explanation not very credible. The literary agent explains, This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me an agency assistant at the time. There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii.
It was a fact checking error based on . . . no facts? Barack Obama never gave any information . . . suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii? Well where the hell did this very huge extrapolation come from? Its like the virgin birth of a legend some lady and God alone were involved.
Thats laughable. Miriam Goderich had to have gotten the idea from somewhere. But what is more laughable is that Barack Obama did not know and did not approve. When I wrote my book, I had to approve my biography multiple times. But more damning, this biography went to the press in 1991 and it circulated for more than a decade.
Even the Associated Press picked it up and I cannot find anywhere suggesting Barack Obama tried to have the AP correct its reporting.
The point is not that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. The point is that Barack Obama has repeatedly been perfectly okay embellishing and having others embellish his qualifications and biography to make himself someone unique instead of just another Chicago politician. The pattern goes back to his job as a financial reporter.A former colleague of his and Obama fan, way back in 2005, claims Barack Obama really embellished his resume describing his financial related reporting.
Second, and the largest point, however, is that the media is yet again caught flat footed, claiming the story is no big deal, irrelevant, or that somehow the Breitbart Crew is in the wrong and peddling Birtherism.
They are not peddling Birtherism. The Breitbart Crew are kind of like illegal immigrants doing reporting Columbia journalism grads wont do. And doing it quite well. In 2008, the New York Times ran a big story on John McCain having an affair with a lobbyist. It got picked up all over the place. Reporters were on the trail. There was no *there* there.
It took most of the month of August in 2004 for the media to pay attention to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth men who served with John Kerry and had real problems with both his conduct in Vietnam and his conduct after he left Vietnam. The media did not want to cover the story. For a while, it was just Fox News. The clear demonstration of bias finally forced the New York Times and the big three nightly newscasts to play catch up as dismissively as possible.
This story has been out there since Barack Obama ran for the United States Senate. Even now the media is dismissing it as frivolous. If it turned out Mitt Romney had not actually been a missionary in France, it would be headline news.
Barack Obama embellishing his biography to make himself look unique? Hardly worthy of press attention. In fact, nothing Barack Obama has done suggesting serious character flaws and thats what this is about is ever worth the medias collective attention. Why? Because some people think Barack Obama was born in Kenya, but much of the press corps is pretty damn sure he was born in Bethlehem.
One last point a friend raised this on email. Could this be why the campaign screams bloody murder about racists and birthers every time someone asks about Barack Obamas college transcripts? This would explain why Obama is so squirrely about the issue and waited until Donald Trump caused him measurable damage in the polls on this issue before responding. Hes not embarrassed that people will find out he lied about being born in Hawaii; hes embarrassed theyll find out he lied about being born in Kenya.
Frank Marshall Davis was there also another black, married man and an SWP member and very close to Ann & her family.
The man in the White House is a downright liar.
It has been reported by Anns friend in Seattle that she showed Ann how to change little Barrys diaper when he was a couple weeks old IN SEATTLE! Was he actually born in Vancouver in an unwed mothers home?
Oh wait ignore the birthers ignore conspirary theorists. WHY, for petes sake? They arent the crazy people. The crazy people are the ones who are so bent on not talking about the facts and information that implicates the fraud who is destroying the United States of America! What if he were a Republican?
So now we're a cult and Obama isn't simply a liar, he's an embellish-er. Occam's Razor still speaks the truth. This looks like a Kenyan Duck, it walks like a Kenyan Duck and I think it is Kenyan Duck.
In any case, blindly accepting the embellishment meme is just poor journalism or rather non-journalism. It is an idea without any facts to justify it.
Usin’ his own words, shouldn’t that be “compressed” instead of “composite”?
“I do not believe Barack Obama was born in Kenya. I dont think it matters even if he were born overseas because his mother was an American citizen. Im not going to debate it with the cult of birtherism.”
This seems to be another one of those “Obama is just a liar” pieces that obligatorily take a couple of shots at media to show us how it’s no big deal and vote for Hussein anyway.
ESPECIALLY because he bashes birthers with an irrelevant statement about his mother being a citizen, to show it’s all ok.
But his father wasNOT!!!! The 'don't think' part is apropos.
A friend of mine has a daughter about 15yo. When her daughter was born she wasn't allowed to fly with her baby in a pressurized plan for around 6 weeks, if she remembered correctly.
Said the change in pressure could rupture a baby's ears.
She was in the Air Force at the time so I don't know if it was just AF doctors rules or not.
Erick talks my language 90% of the time, but you’re right about the snarky caveat that even the right wing alternative media mostly hides behind. They want to report this stuff but with a disclaimer that they themselves believe it.
It must be a ploy they use to avoid being taken off task and thrown into hand to hand combat with the msm, who would use the birther thing to disrupt and distract from getting Romney elected on his economic platform.
Avoid and conquer is the only game in town for Romney.
After all, the brutalization of the Constitution is a distraction for Romney, as well as ALL of the social issues. These are just not considered to be one of the “real issues”. And, they never will be.
Of course Obama was born in America - Hawaii to be specific.
And he regietsred properly and legally for Social Security in Connecticut, where he had never visited or lived.
And he registered properly and legally for the military draft.
There is nothing suspicious or unusual about his background or history.
He and his many media suporters and apologists have told us as much many, many times.
That is why he won’t release a legitimate birth certificate.
That is why he has multiple Sosial Security numbers.
That is why he won’t release his Selective Service records.
That is why he won’t release his passport records.
That is why he won’t release his college records.
If we can’t just take his word for all of this we must be racists.
bfl
Through all of this, at the very least, the rest of the world should realize that nothing, absolutely nothing he says can be trusted. Either before, or now, , or both, he’s a liar. Liar, liar, liar.
“with a disclaimer that they themselves believe it.”
Rush took the same line today as Erickson. I think Levin is the only one that hasn’t cowered from the constant charge of racism or calling Obama’s non-citizenship the spade that it is.
Yes, the Rush/Erickson explanation is plausible, but so is the birther one.
Mark Levin is definitely the “great one” on most things but he is not interested in the eligibility issue at all, at least on his program, for some reason.
Wouldn’t Obama want to tout that his father was Malcolm X? Wouldn’t that buy all kinds of cred from leftists and intellectuals with extra points on US history in the civil rights era? We’re talking about an age when great white dopes aplenty wear Che Guevara t-shirts, surely none of them or their friends would have a problem with the son of freedom-fighter Malcolm X inhabiting the White House!
Might be because of practical reality.
ozero is the acting president, legally or not.
Removing him would be near impossible.
Voting him out after a term is a much more pracitical and attainable way of removing him from power.
What stinks is that the dimrats and their media brought this guy to us in the first place. They knew who he was and what he is. Shows clearly that the dims are loyal to their party first and foremost and will break fundamental laws to get power over us.
Hysterical. Rush should lead with this on Monday!
Thanks I stand corrected about Levin.
So is any talk radio guy taking on the birther issue?
