The text editor of the 1991 literary agency booklet that described Barack Obama as born in Kenya said Thursday the line in question was nothing more than a fact checking error.
Miriam Goderich issued a statement to the Political Wire saying the future president never suggested in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii:
Youre undoubtedly aware of the brouhaha stirred up by Breitbart about the erroneous statement in a client list Acton & Dystel published in 1991 (for circulation within the publishing industry only) that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me an agency assistant at the time. There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more.

Some blogs are calling it a typo. And it only took from 1991 to 2007 to fix. Just in time for Dick Obama to run for Prez. I guess during that time he never, ever read the thing. No one at the company ever, ever read the thing. No one in the book world ever, ever read the thing.

LITERARY AGENT RESPONDS TO BORN IN KENYA OBAMA BIO: NOTHING MORE THAN A FACT CHECKING ERROR
Yeah, when she first checked it, it was a fact. Later, President Barry and the rest decided it would no longer be a fact and, so, she declared it an error. Nothing has changed.

WHO told you he was from Kenya to begin with?
WHAT is your process for fact checking things you publish?
WHERE did the information that led you to publish his Kenyan birthplace come from?
WHEN were you informed of such?
WHY do you believe now that this was an error and can you produce any prior retraction?
Perhaps you've since seen that that literary agent didn't write the bios. She had the writers supply their own bios written in the third person. Those went in as they were supplied. She did no fact checking. She received the bio from the hand of Barry--unless she took delivery of the finished mss and bio directly from Ayers.

Right. We haven't seen such sloppiness since Sandy Berger.

“Something very sinister is going on with Barack Obama.”
You know, I've been kind of thinking the same thing.
Typos, yes.
Lies, yes.
Apologizing for America while in Egypt and Germany, yes.
Inability to speak without telepromter for darn near everything (he didn't write it - who writes these things for his telepromter).
It's 4 am, so I'll leave it at that. I've been having a feeling of foreboding lately.

Yes, the 5 w’s are basic journalism.
There is also a “h”.
How...so many “hows” to consider.

“Well, maybe someone just dreamed it with no prior suggestion at all. Or maybe some palm reader told them about it.”
Maybe he used his Kenya voice and they took it to mean he was from Kenya. And, it was to his advantage at that time to be from Kenya wrt being an author AND from Kenya.
Think of the sales a Kenyan would get rather than someone from Hawaii or Chicago. So what. But, if he was from Kenya, maybe he would glean bigger book sales.
Obama does everything he does to make it seem like he is on top of everything. Maybe the lies are beginning to untangle.
That would be awesome to see the plot unravel.

“There is a difference between a journalist and a reporter.
Big difference.”
Indeed, there is. Thanks for the reminder, hedgetrimmer.
Journalists are given way too much credit for “reporting” the news.

My post was directed at the absurdity of the literary agents trying to cover for Obama by claiming it was their “fact checking” mistake. How does anyone make a mistake that involves coming up with a ‘fact’ about something that supposedly never happened, and they could have had no knowledge of since it never happened?
They got this biographical information just like practically any other entity would have: from their client, or prospective author, Barack Obama. They sure as heck didn’t go to the expense of doing a background investigation just to learn where Obama was born.
They make themselves look like complete fools trying to cover for Obama, but no one in the MSM will point that out.
