Two female students say they were not allowed to attend Lexington Catholic High School's prom as a couple Saturday night, upsetting a number of students at the school.
Hope Decker, 18, a senior, and sophomore Tiffany Wright, 16, had already gotten their dresses for the event, but Friday afternoon they were told by school administrators they could not attend as a couple because of the church's stance on same-sex relationships, Wright said.
In an email Sunday, Lexington Catholic president Steve Angelucci said, "As a Catholic high school, we uphold every teaching of the Catholic Church. The policies and procedures of our school reflect those teachings."
When the couple tried to enter the school's gymnasium, where the prom was held, they were turned away, so Wright said they held their own prom in the school's parking lot.
"I would understand and respect the school's decision if they truly upheld church teachings," Wright said Sunday night. "They didn't forbid the entrance of all the couples who've had premarital sex and all the kids who planned to get drunk after the prom."

The one question I have isn’t about the sexual preference but about the fact that one of these girls is 18 years old and one is a minor. Where’s law enforcement on this obvious violation of the law?
Secondly, who died and left these two as gods to sit in judgment on the decisions of their CATHOLIC school to abide by Catholicism and reject their perversions??? 15 0r 16 year old sophomore Tiffany Wright apparently imagines that the Church and its institutions are some sort of democracies and that her opinions as to the governance of her CATHOLIC high school have some sort of standing and some sort of relevance. Ummmm, Ms. Wright, the Church is not McDonald's. You do it our way or you get your insubordinate backside out of here. There is no third way. AND, Tiffany, dear, can you spell Moral Relativism?
Also note that these are two more instances of giving kids a bad start in life by naming them fashionably rather than after saints which was once the Catholic tradition. Unless maybe I missed references in Butler's Lives of the Saints to Saint Hope and Saint Tiffany.
Also, spoiling them rotten does not help them one bit.

Several years ago Kellenberg HS, a very popular Catholic HS on Long Island cancelled Prom. The principal, a Marianist brother, said too much debauchery in the form of post prom drunkeness and the renting of party houses in the Hamptons for post prom “festivities” made it impossible for a school that professes that it lives The Faith to allow the Prom to continue in its name. The school’s enrollment has not suffered.

What the little emotional liars want to make sure is NOT talked about is the FACT that while they said those who committed pre-marital sex and other transgressions NONE of them AGREE that it is not sin in the catholic church...The gay militant left always wants it to be framed up as if what they do is not a sin...they REFUSE to address this. Keeping them out was justified...just as it would be to say to the adulterer that if they do not see the wrong then no communion. Liars!

Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the actual law before making assumptions? Age of consent in Kentucky, the state in question is 16. Furthermore, most states have what is commonly known to lay people as Romeo and Juliet statutes, where there is not only an age of consent, but a minimum age discrepancy must also be met. Otherwise, situations would arise where it would be perfectly legal to engage on sex Thursday, but it would become illegal on Friday after a birthday.

I know many bisexual girls who are extremely attractive and get physical with girls but they all prefer men for serious relationships.
I don’t know any lesbians but once bought a home from a couple. The “butch” one’s name could have been a man’s and she wore all men’s clothing so I didn’t know it until halfway through the closing. Awkward...

They should have been excommunicated long before this prom; just like Pelosi, and all of the Kennedys, and the only reason I can see why a priest would tolerate any of these insects-—beyond belief in itself-—is, fear of their tax exempt status(the almighty dollar.) These creatures have been released on us and we welcomed them under the guise of the social justice banner throw-up. Most deserve thier coming fate for being such boobs, but the others will end up suffering right-a-long-side the succubus’. God help us!
Many 16 year olds aren’t familiar with the full anatomy and physiology of the human body, let alone which sex they plan on being attracted to for the rest of their lives.

I was being sarcastic. I have seen very pretty lesbians. I work every day with a mid 20's woman that is a true 9-9.5/10 face and body and so is her gf. Both are stunning as was her previous gf. Takes your breath away when she walk in. So pretty it hurts to look at her.

At the Catholic high school I attended these ladies would have been expelled or syspended. The senoir would have had her diploma mailed to her as would those who joined her parking lot prom.
Fighting the authority of the school was not tolerated nor should it be tolerated now. The students involved in these hojinks will recieve disiplinary actions if the school has any desire in keeping control of its student body.
Names from the virtues have a long history in Christianity. I knew a number of “Hopes” and “Esperanzas” when I was a girl. Although Tiffany’s parents probably don’t know it, the name is said to be a version of “Theophania,” which has long been in use for Greek speakers and in Spanish cultures, as well as enjoying a bit of a Victorian fad.
Given that all sexual activity for unmarried people is sinful, I question the appropriateness, for a Catholic school, of events which students attend as romantic pairs. If students bought their tickets for a dance and arrived as individuals, there would be no need for rules about who was an acceptable “date” for whom.
