A Prayer for our Free Nation Under God

Our Almighty God in Heaven, We pray for this nation that your servants, our great forefathers, established on this continent so many years ago under what we still believe today to be your divine guidance. They recognized the great truths that we are all created equal by you and endowed by you with our unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our ancestors sailed across the seas seeking relief from persecution and to seek your blessings and to establish colonies where they would be free to live and worship in your name and in the manner they believed to be of your will. With your divine help and guidance, they carved out what would later become the freest and greatest nation on your creation out of the wilderness, and gave thanks and prayed for your approval and blessings.

They later declared their independence from the tyrants overseas and fought a great war of independence with your divine guidance to establish the original free states, and then later joined together as a federation of states, united under a common constitution to become a nation among nations. And they consented to grant to their newly established federal government certain limited powers to best defend our new nation and to help it grow strong as one nation, under your Providence, with liberty and justice for all, and they reserved all other rights and powers to the states and the people. We were to govern ourselves as sovereign states and sovereign people, under God, and they prayed for your blessings. And all was good.

Our ancestors later fought a great civil war to rid our nation of the scourge of slavery and to ensure that this nation, established under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, all the people, shall not perish from the earth.

We as a nation fought many wars to forge and keep our freedom and to rid the world of evil tyrants and mass murdering collectivist dictators and totalitarians who were taking over and enslaving their own people and those of neighboring nations. Our great armies and warriors marched in your name, asked for your blessings, risked and sacrificed their lives, and fought and won the great battles, not for treasure or territory, but to defend and restore your blessings of freedom and justice for all people. And we prayed and gave thanks and asked for your blessings. All glory is to our Almighty God in Heaven. All the good we seek is sought in your name and we pray it is your will to be done.

Now once again our great nation and great people face a great evil. And this time it is an insidious evil that has crept in from foreign shores and during the last 100 years has infiltrated into every institution of our society and is poisoning the minds of our youth and destroying our moral society. It is the scourge of Marxism, communism, socialism, collectivism, totalitarianism, and the related cultures of sodomy, depravity and death. We believe it is unholy and destructive to the society and free nation that was established in your name and under your divine guidance and with your blessings.

Dear Lord, We pray for the strength and wisdom to resist this latest new form of insidious tyranny that has now gripped our nation from within. This evil scourge has already completely taken over one of our two great major political parties from which the majority of our elected government officials are selected, and is now threatening to take over the other. If they are allowed to let the sodomites, the abortionists, the socialists, the corrupt and greedy power mongers and evil-doers take over the majority of our elected offices, after they've already taken over our government and educational institutions at all levels and have even infiltrated into our churches and houses of worship, then we fear greatly for our future as a nation under God and for the independence and liberty of our posterity.

Dear Lord, the collectivists, sodomites and evil-doers are inside the gates. We pray once again for your divine guidance and that as we fight this great battle for liberty, we are doing so not only in your name, but with your blessings.

We pray for miraculous delivery from evil.

Your will be done.

There’s too little honesty in discussion as tempers rise. There’s a sleeping dragon in this nation. They called it the silent majority the last time we reached this point. It’s a lot more vivid and visceral this time around. And this time,we’re at the end game. This election is crucial if this republic is to survive as a beacon of liberty, self reliance, individual freedom, and opportunity.

We will see this nation on the road to recovery, or the road to tyranny very soon. We will do what we can, and we will pray.

Amen! I couldn't have said it better.

(although I have added the USofA to my morning prayers. We need divine intervention to fight so many evil-doers who are bent on "conquering" us.)

All of it was spot on, but two things stood out for me...

I think this should be the same courtesy extended to those who seek the same.

This is a very important statement. The evil-doers have lied about so many things as to why we do what we do (oil for instance) but here is the truth!

We need our foundation shored up.

I think I understand, Jim. We’re growing old, our bodies are turning on us, and we’re anxious and weary. How I wish I could turn back the hands of time! Maybe if I worked a little harder! My head is bent and I find great comfort in prayer lately. But I have hope because My children and grandchildren love God and hate tyranny and I know they will continue the battle well after I’m done here. We plant the seeds and then we move on.

Until then, we will keep fighting. We will never give up!

I’m proud to know you and I’ve been blessed beyond words to share this forum with a man of such integrity. You are an inspiring teacher and for that I am eternally grateful.

A BUMP —— and a rereading of Jim’s PRAYER.

Talk about Divine Guidance ... This prayer is a great example.

This prayer Jim Robinson has composed, is so powerful, and touches the heart so profoundly, because it embodies an American history lesson, in truth and in fact, regarding our forefather's reliance on the blessings of Divine Providence, sketching out in such a concise manner the history of how that reliance on Divine Providence brought us through many trials and tribulations.

America and God's Sponsorship are clearly intertwined from the beginning. This is a powerful truth. Thank you Jim for giving us such a superb touchstone for American Unity Under God. This is THE constitution behind the constitution.

Now, I can't help myself, or could not live with myself, it I did not mention this important truth as well, that to vote for Willard M. Romney is to RIP the original parchment copy of this prayer, along with all of the divine sentiments of the heart that go along with it, into shreds.

In 2008, McCain certainly represented a cancer growing upon the heart of the conservative cause. Willard M. Romney is the same cancer, yet it has spread, and threatens to engulf the whole heart. Many voices, once friendly, speak now with the voice of this tumor, as it has engulfed them too.

It is a matter of the survival of the Soul of the Republican Party, and therefore the Soul of America, that the assistance of Divine Providence be invoked to cut off this cancer before it has a chance to grow any further.

Let the August Convention be a surgery session for the removal of this Cancer.

You know, when the delegates met to draft a new Constitution, they all came with their preconceived ideas of what it would look like. However, the end result was nothing like any of them envisioned. This was because God guided these men in the right direction.

The August convention can be a similar situation, where the Will of God becomes a real factor in the decisions of the gathered delegates, but only if the people who care about it, will pray about it.

If we throw up our hands and say, O there is nothing we can do but complain, then we are lost. We must seek, in this hour, for the saving of this nation, the assistance of the same Divine Power that allowed for its CREATION.

If we truly believe that God Almighty made it possible for this nation to be born, and that God Almighty made it possible for this nation to become great, then surely the same Almighty God can make sure this nation can survive, if only we will make it clear to Him, that we want this nation to survive, as a unified nation under His Laws.

A fleeting thought here, a fleeting thought there, in that direction will not do it. We must stir up a mighty chorus in that direction, making our voices heard every day. And Jim's prayer is clearly the place to begin. A great touchstone of unity it is.

The expression of Devotion requires a framework, if it to become a rolling momentum, and I believe God has provided such a framework, through Jim, in the inspiration of this prayer.

I will commit right now, to read and say aloud Jim Robinson's prayer every day, without missing one day, until the August convention.

I have taken the liberty to put Jim's prayer into my word processor, so I could print it out with regular letter-size paging, two pages. I have created a PDF file to save other Free Republicans this step. The prayer can be printed directly from this PDF file, with nice margins for your ongoing notations. No changes were made. The wording is exactly as you see it above, just nicely formatted.

Fulfilling the Vow - Day 1

Day 1 of 99 - Check

As of today, May 21, 2012, there are 99 days until the Republican Convention in Tampa, which is on August 27, 2012.

In the post above, you can see that after reading Jim's prayer for the first time, I was so smitten by its value, that I made a vow to give it every day unto the Republican National Convention, as the first essential step to build a barrier of Christ-Light that will block the "ascension" of Willard M. Romney to the throne of Republican Power.

I would encourage all Free Republicans to join with me. I have printed out Jim's prayer, and what I will do, before I do anything else on Free Republic, is to give that prayer, saying it out loud, and then come into this thread and post a note like this, to indicate that I have fulfilled my vow for this day.

All of you probably know this already, but it is worth repeating I think. To build a strong momentum in the Christ-Light, daily ritual is very important, a structure of activity that provides a chalice for the devotional expression, and this will be my ritual, thanks to Jim's prayer, and I encourage other Free Republicans to follow suit. This way, none of us will ever be a suit so empty (of Light) as Willard M. Romney.

Today, in giving this prayer, I would note that I was very grateful for the opportunity Jim Robinson has provided to run my mind over the basic outlines of American History. This is powerful. Like a clear mountain stream running through the consciousness, which is artfully consumated by his reference to the words of Abraham Lincoln spoken at a time in our history of great uncertainty, as to whether the Union would survive or not. I believe the nation is at such a crossroad in this hour.

If everyone would participate in this daily ritual, of giving Jim's prayer, and then making note of the fulfillment of their vow here, this thread could grow to thousands of entries, and would serve as a Beacon of Light and inspiration for the whole Free Republic community.

Remember what the Lord Christ said, "when two or three are gathered in my name, there I am." This ritual would fulfill that purpose, here in the Free Republic cyberspace, and the increasing level of Christ-Light invoked herein, would help the RomneyZombies to slowly wake up, and as a result, there would be less and less strife among us on that score, and that would be a good thing.

Amen to your beautiful hearts prayer. I thank God for directing me to FR and thanks to all you prayer warriors and to the person who invited me into this thread. I have been so upset the last several weeks that I could not focus on prayer. I stopped going into any prayer threads and vented my frustrations on anyone who if judged as a compromiser. I could not see what God was doing and was acting like someone wandering in the desert.

Every prayer and scripture I read reminded me of what I need to do. REMEMBER, what God has done and who He is. No matter what I hear or see happening, God appoints our kings and directs the hearts of rulers. When God's people pray; hearts, lives and nations can change.

If any of you see me out there attacking some poor soul; remind me it's time to go to my closet (prayer thread) and pray. Thanks.

I was going to post the following to Jim’s thread yesterday where he said “No matter who you do or don’t vote for at the top of the ticket, we must turn out like never before to vote straight conservative down ticket!!”

But it didn’t sound very good and I’m not sure I was making my point, so I trashed it. But GR, your comments echo my thoughts - so I guess I’ll post it here and hope my meaning is clear.

Yes, and it goes farther than that - we need to talk with our neighbors, co-workers, and perhaps most importantly the young ones in our communities as the track we are on is more than this year’s vote.

This morning I woke up early and couldn’t get back to sleep. That rarely happens. I had a huge pit in my stomach - something was wrong, somewhere. I thought “Oh - maybe it’s Monday in Asia and the market has crashed because of Greece?” (That wasn’t it).

Then I thought of how God lays judgement on Nations. And how when Israel wanted a King like all the other nations, even though God told them they were not to have any kings.

Well - God let them have their wish. And they got a bunch of lousy kings and it tore their nation apart. (Probably led to the destruction of their country for a few hundred years, but I forget).

And now God is letting the majority of our country to choose a leader. And with the years and years of liberal, immoral desires that have been cultivated - He is bringing up the leaders the majority want. Our collective hearts as a Nation have turned away from God, and our judgement has been a long-time coming. While He is a patient God, one wonders how long we can try it?

But it will need a change of massive proportions among the people of this nation, and it is a change of core values of what is right and wrong, moral and unjust, and a return to the values on which this great country was founded - founded upon God, and in some miraculous way, Created BY God.

And unless a miracle happens, I hope that it won’t all collapse as it will only get worse on the political level with who God has allowed to be raised up.
