Ron Paul Supporters Boo Romney Son Off Stage at Ariz. GOP Convention
The Blaze ^ | May 13, 2012 | Madeleine Morgenstern

Supporters of Texas Rep. Ron Paul booed one of Mitt Romney’s adult sons off the stage Saturday at the Arizona Republican Party convention as he tried to consolidate support for his father.

Josh Romney’s speech to state GOP members was cut short by jeers from Paul backers at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, the Arizona Republic reported.

The state’s convention was to elect delegates for the national convention in August, where the former Massachusetts governor is expected to wrap up the nomination to take on President Barack Obama.

“We cannot afford four more years of President Obama,” said Josh Romney, the third of Mitt Romney’s five sons. “We need someone to step in there and turn things around.”

But Josh had to stop repeatedly as people booed and yelled for Paul, who has continued campaigning in the Republican primary. All other challengers, including Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich, have dropped out of the race, and Romney has a commanding lead over Paul in the estimated delegate count.

But Paul supporters have begun flooding state conventions, recently winning control of delegate majorities in Nevada and Maine.

Josh Romney tried to pacify the crowd by taking a moment to recognize his father’s former rivals. It appeared to have little effect: Telling delegates to vote for his dad as he finished up, the crowd “exploded with competing boos and cheers, cutting him short.”

According to the Republic, some attendees said they heard Paul supporters chanting outside that Mitt Romney was “the white Obama.”

>> What kind of Mormons do “you” think live in Scottsdale? <<

. The majority kind, that have zero idea what Mormonism really is. Romney is the insider kind, truly dangerous.

I really think that is kinda funny.

I do live in Arizona, and there are many Mormons living here, all kinds, just like the rest of us.

hitchwolf cited the Mormons at Scottsdale.

I responded to that ~ since it's pretty obvious Romney doesn't live there and isn't one of them.

Paulbots can not respond on their own logically. They depend on their programer. If the question asked has not been programed they do not know how to respond. I am sure the paulbot programers are working on this though.

So how are Scottsdale, or Mesa Mormons different? I have only known the Mormons in AZ and the ones on missions who have worked hard to help my parents in MN. Every one of them have been great Americans, much different than the blame America first candidate.

“Ronpaul cultists, classy as ever.”

It was ‘proxies with the moxie’ when it was Bishop Willard’s minions disrupting Gingrich events.

Well just darned. Now, what about those Mormons who were so polite?

Don't know about you...but I've never met a Mormon who wasn't polite -- perfect gentlemen. And ladies.

They may be using the same tactics but I know a few ron paul supporters and they are as anti-socialist as they come.

“This is like a fist fight between Nazis and Communists - I’m not sure who to root for....”

Both of them. Like the war reports from the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s, just sit back and enjoy the spectacle.

All this boo-hooing about lil’ Lord Fauntleroy’s lil’ Lord Fauntleroyling being jeered in mid lie makes me laugh. Willard and his rodents can dish it out but they can’t take it.

And that would be who?

BTW, since the primaries aren't over yet I'm more concerned with that sort of campaigning ~ and there was an awful lot of negative advertising (from you know who) and he didn't say a thing when the Virginia primary got screwed up on his behalf ~ very very very impolite man ~ just staying silent like that.

That sort of thing is what we'd expect of someone with NO CORE VALUES.

It’s childish scumbags no matter who they support.

“We usually have over 1.5 million people show up for a Presidential primary in Virginia. Romney got about 10% of that number.
His support is tissue paper thin around here ~ a handful of Bourbons at the top maybe, some old business buddies, mormons ~ ? ~, and otherwise he’s not popular at all.”

I have seen one Romney bumper sticker around here. One. This area was festooned with ‘W’ stickers for years, later McCain-Palin. After the election McCain was scraped off, but not Palin. Palin’s name slowly dropped off all of the cars only after she announced she would not be running. It took a long time but now they are all gone.

In the recent primary, pretty much the entire Boss Hogg GOP establishment here was stumping directly or by proxy for Romney. It has finally paid off, with one Romney sticker on a six year old economy car.

I am inclined to agree, but also delighted to see the Romney camp getting some of their own tactics thrown back in their teeth.

Bwahahahahhaahahahaaaaahhhhhhaaa~ ROTFLMAO

I"m here in the DC suburbs in Northern Virginia and I have yet to see even one Romney sticker on anything. We saw an old Obama/Biden sticker yesterday on a car with a parking permit for a local highschool.

It's a race to the bottom ~ who will receive the fewest votes. We haven't had an election like this one before.

Pathetic from the Paul-tards. Paul should have the grace to publically condemn this. I’m not holding my breath.

Paul supporters would like a conservative even less than Paul. They often seem to be beyond labels, but strangely fall into a leftist camp, at least by their actions. People have been putting up with him in previous years too. They are crazed zealots who support a MAN, not anything else. It is like a cult. They go after people personally in ways that are dangerous, and he is an evil man who has no problem with the likes of rabid racists and anti-Semites supporting him.

so in America, in your opinion, it is fair game to not let the other person speak because you don’t agree with him.

In America, in historical fact, it has always been the case that politicians and their mouthpieces have been either cheered or booed. Sometimes riotously. A more recent example that is especially germane to this latest reality check would be the Goldwaterites who roundly booed Rockefeller off the stage in '64.

Although I wasn't alive at the time, were I there I would have sided with Goldwater and booed Rockefeller down. Northeastern liberals with an (R) after their names are not just useless - they are destructive to liberty - the knife in the back of Conservatism.

You think its funny that Mormons are kept in the dark about what their money supports?

You have a strange sense of humor.

It matters not what the “Paulbots” can respond to, but what they can accomplish for all of us by derailing that turd Romney, and giving us a legitimate convention where a real American can be nominated.

You, not being a real American, would not understand that.

Give us a few more of your emotional strawmen, OK?

"I think its a coverup"

Heh. I could not agree with you more.

What we have here is Romney supporters being obnoxious on the sly. And the Ron Paul crowd is honest and open about it!

Heh.
