As the counterweight to a presidential nominee blessed with wealth and privilege, Jindals stirring life story as the child of Indian immigrants -- who bestowed upon himself at the age of 4 the all-American name of the youngest son in The Brady Bunch -- could be especially appealing.
A Rhodes scholar who helmed the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals -- the states largest agency -- at the almost absurd age of 24, Piyush Bobby Jindals aptitude and credentials for the nations second-highest office would be difficult for anyone to question seriously.
Like Jindal, Romney was an academic overachiever who may never have been the life of the party but was the kind of kid that moms hoped their daughters would bring home one day, and the two men are similar in mind-set and temperament.
Though he does not share Romneys decades of business experience, Jindal did have a brief post-collegiate stint working as a business consultant at McKinsey & Company before entering politics, and he shares the Bain Capital co-founders hyper-analytical approach to governing.
Unlike Romney, who faced likely defeat in Massachusetts had he chosen to run for a second term, Jindal has remained overwhelmingly popular in his home state. In October of last year, he was re-elected with a whopping 66 percent of the vote in Louisianas nonpartisan blanket primary system.

Jindal is ineligibile. Senate resolution #511 says TWO citizen parents. The rino’s kept the commie usurper dunham covered because they knew they had to cover for rubio and jindal. Sorry but, no way jose.
If obama is the recent precedent, does that mean that all future Presidents could 'legally' hide - delete - all records about themselves?
obama sets precedent for all who hate America. Those who love America will abide by her rules, and fight for it.
I like him very much. If not VP, how about HHS Secretary?

Two wrongs don’t make a right. Just because the Democrats cheat, lie, and steal doesn’t mean that conservatives should do the same.
The problem with the RINO GOP is that they are all too willing to imitate the Dems on such matters.
Also, recent discussion has suggested that Jindal isn’t really all that conservative, although I admit that I forget the details. Sorry about that.
Is this a joke? Jindal is HORRIBLE on the National stage. He’d be eviscerated. While VP (as pretty much every poll shows) just doesn’t make that much of an ultimate difference, Romney needs someone dynamic. “Dynamic” is not sometime you use in the same sentence with Jindal.
Eligibility aside for a moment, have two Governors ever made up a Presidential ticket? Historically, Governors run with “Washington Types” who are supposed to have some foreign policy experience.
I like Bobby but he’ll be much better in Mitten’s Cabinet as Sec’y of HHS, if he wants to leave Cajun country...

I'm going to go ahead and trust constitutional scholars like Mark Levin on this, and ignore the birther brigades who lose in court over and over and over and over again.
Sadly
No Body Cares.
The cases lost in court are all over “standing” not over legal definition of NBC.
The current courts will not touch the legal side of this issue.
Looks that way....
I like Greg Abbott attorney general of Texas.
In 2010, Allee Bautsch, a Republican Party official, and her companion were viciously attacked by leftist punks, and she was severely injured. Even though she was a major fundraiser for the party, Jindal did nothing--no denunciation of the act, no investigation--nothing. No arrests were made, and the perpetrators are still running around scot-free.
These are very dangerous times for our country, and we need leaders with courage.
HHS needs to go. No point in putting anyone in charge, except to close the department down.
No, trust Constitutional scholars who wouldn't lose their business if they honestly addressed the issue like Chief Justice Morrison Waite, who wrote the Minor v. Happersett decision, or Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes, who, in 1939, wrote the decision which clarified that Marie Elg, born to immigrant citizen parents in New York, but taken back to Sweden and raised there, could return to the US because she was born on our soil to citizen parents, and her form of citizenship, unlike a child born to one or more non-citizens, could not be taken away by Congress; it was given by nature. Or, while our pundits, including Obama, act as if Chief Justice John Marshall didn't really understand what he was talking about when he cited 'Law of Nations' in The Venus, and clarified the common-law for natural born citizen, or when he established the primacy of Judicial Review in Marbury.
But do give Levin credit for explaining, in Liberty and Tyranny, p37, that our framers intentionally left definitions of terms out of the Constitution, as Madison explained in a letter, the meanings of words change over time. As Justice Waite pointed out in Minor, “At common-law, and in the language understood by our framers...”.
Jindal, Rubio, and Obama are all ineligible, but only for the presidency. The reason Obama was not vetted was the McCain too was ineligible, but for a very different reason, written about extensively beginning with McCain's 2000 campaign. That is why Democrats to such pains to try to cover for McCain, by sponsoring two actions, S.2678. Feb 2008, by Obama and McCaskill, “A Bill To Make Foreign Born Children of Military Citizens Natural Born Citizens”, and Senate Resolution 511. Apr 2008, which rested upon McCain's two citizen parents and did handwaving about what our framers might have meant, and passed in 1790, repealing in the 1795 Nationality Act, a bill to make natural born citizens of the foreign born children of Citizens. S.2678, in Feb failed to leave the Senate.
There were at least twelve other actions to attempt to amend Article II Section 1 between 2003 and 2008, three alone by John Conyer, and one by Orrin Hatch, whose bill was aimed at making Schwarzenegger eligible. Conyer’s efforts seem likely to have been aimed at laying the groundwork for Obama, but never got out of Congress.
Most people on FR know these facts, but for those who don't, we are all learning the realities of an independent judiciary, and how much the Constitution really means when people's incomes/power are at stake.
Precedent, and Leo Donofrio explained to us lay people, is nonbinding. Minor v. Happersett made common law into positive law, but that wouldn't prevent the court from redefining it. Their approach has been to ignore the law, both common and precedent.
Yup, same as Rubio and RINOmney, too. But, as pointed out by another FReeper, NoBodyCares. Just a few more steps down the Road to Rome, IMO...
Not really. That is precisely what the dems want us to do. They win either way. Either they knock out one of our candidates or they get a pass to nominate any socialist in the world with a fake US birth certificate.
What they would do would be to seal the deal by nominating a communist perhaps born in the US but raised in Europe especially Russia, China or some other socialist/communist state. The GOP could say nothing. The dems, GOP-e and Soros would make sure no true NBC candidate is ever nominated again by either party. After all, the New World Order must be served. America must be ruled by a socialist citizen of the world. By nominating a non NBC candidate, the GOP-e will prove that it is more than willing to accommodate.
Not a natural born citizen. Congress either must take up an amendment to change this law, or enforce it. They cannot continue to ignore it.
[[ Question:
Its my understanding that Jindal is not qualified as a natural born citizen to be POTUS. How in the world can he run as a VP? ]]
Answer:
He can’t.
[[ Or, are we just ignoring the Constitution the way the Democrats are? ]]
Answer:
Yes.
