Obama Administration Warns That Working Outdoors Can Kill You By Susan Jones May 8, 2012
(CNSNews.com) Lets Move, says the Obama White House. But Obamas Labor Department is telling some workers to slow down.
On Monday, the administration launched a national campaign warning people how dangerous it is to work outside in hot weather.
"Drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks in cool, shaded areas are incredibly important in the hot summer months," said Dr. David Michaels, assistant secretary of labor for occupational safety and health.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, a division of the Labor Department, says heat stroke has killed around 30 workers a year, on average, since 2003, and "thousands" of workers" are stricken annually with heat-related illnesses.
"For outdoor workers, 'water, rest and shade' are three words that can make the difference between life and death," Labor Secretary Hilda Solis said Monday in a news release. "If employers take reasonable precautions, and look out for their workers, we can beat the heat."
For the second summer in a row, OSHA is distributing educational materials in English and Spanish, as well as a curriculum to be used for workplace training. A special Web page explains heat-related hazards.

I guess we’re too freakin’ stupid to take our next breath without the gov’t telling us too.
They really think people are stupid. What a bunch of arrogant jerks. Of course, their ilk have been “educating” our children for the last 40+ years, so perhaps they are correct ...
So, everyone just stay indoors & wait for your Gub’mint check.
They obviously disagree with that Old Book that says:
“By the sweat of thy brow shalt thou earn thy bread”
People have been working in the heat for thousands of years. We now need gub’mint intervention?
I think just the idea of working at all would kill most Obama supporters.
Obama looks like someone who’s never worked a day in his life - outdoors or otherwise.
It’s apparent that the concept of ‘work’ is wholly alien to “O”.
If all Americans (from the beginning of our existence as a national entity) had HIS flawed and erroneous concept of and aversion to actual work, we’d still be gasping for breath and struggling against ‘old Europe’ ... and likely failing altogether!!
The thought of working...and especially working outdoors, would indeed be a strange thing to folks who vote for the Cretin-in-Chief and his Clown Show of Felon/Cretins.
As such, this advice is needed...for “them”, at least.
I worked construction to put myself through college. I worked in some awful heat and cold. Hey, I survived. I saw a guy throw a bucket of water on an electrical fire. He survived too (although I’m not sure how).
This nanny-state “no pain no gain” government is driving me nuts. They have no balls, so they want to cut off all of ours.
So, does this mean that he’s through with golf? That’s done outdoors. Wouldn’t that kill him?
Behold..... yet another important discovery!!
Dress for rain... when are they going to talk about dressing for rainy days?
Play it safe folks.... stay in bed and wait for your government check.
This is not new by any means. It has been around since at least 1999?

With the workloads and rest periods all preprogrammed out!
So why is the 0bama Administration getting all up into this...AGAIN.
Who said anything about staying indoors? Ultimately, zer0care will have us staying six feet under, with no Gub'mint checks.
These people are complete idiots and I do mean complete.
Working outdoors is the healthiest thing that you could possibly do.
Indoors you are subject to crowding and breathing fumes, dust, and contaminants and breathing aerosols from other people. Indoors you don’t get enough sunshine to manufacture vitamin D (and by the way, slather on that sunblock, you don’t want that nasty vitamin D to contaminate your skin if you do occasionally venture outside).
Outside you will get fresh air and everything nature has for your benefit.
You do have to do things wisely though. If you are too stupid to moderate your outdoor activities in hot (or cold) weather, then it isn’t the outdoor living that will affect you, it will be natural selection telling you that you are too stupid to pass on your genes to another generation.
Tell that to the GI's who are daily risking their lives in the Middle Eastern deserts you ignominious illegitimate community agitator.
... and arsenic KILLS too!
Washington DC is full of people who make their living telling other people how to do things they’ve never done themselves.
