The upcoming election will be one of the simplest of our lifetimes. It is defined by one axiom: Obama must be defeated.
[HUGE SNIP of must-read article]
So let us put away all thoughts of strife and disagreement. All wishful thinking and illusions. The real world beckons. There is no place for the ideal in this conflict. We will have other and better opportunities. For good or ill, Romney is the man of the hour. The only thing of importance is to defeat Obama and everything he stands for. The polls, the shifting attitudes of the country as a whole, and the stark fear arising among the progressives suggest that Romney can do the job. Lets us gird our loins and go amongst them.

Shhhhh, stop making sense, it’s not allowed here.
Well, then the tea party MUST turn out en mass for every conservative and “paint” the Romney Republicans into a “cooperative” corner.
**** willard... he will NEVER get my vote.

Romney isn’t Conservative by any means. Romney is a liar, but that appears to be a qulification for President , not a Hindrance.
Romney is the biggest POS the Republicans could have put up, and his only chance is that Obama is so bad that people would rather have half a Shyt sandwich than a whole one.
It is said here that Romney would hurt more than Obama because the GOP would get the blame for his failure, well with Obama blaming everything on the GOP anyway, what difference would a little more blame do?
We can speculate on how bad Romney would be.
WE KNOW how bad Obama is.
I choose to speculate.

I am not voting for him.
Romney will do just fine???? I will grudgingly acknowledge that he’ll probably hold the current status quo, and that a second term Obama will descend much further into a Marxist Hell. But I don’t want the status quo. We need to work on the debt, cut spending, reverse regulations, defend the COTUS. I’m stuck with being ABO, but really hating Mittens, and wondering if a protest vote will have any impact after the MSM spins it.
Dear Lord, I’m begging for a brokered convention. Please hear our prayers.
As much as I share the antipathy for republicans and their complicity, I think your blanket condemnation goes too far.
I would focus on the GOPe as complicit in passage of Obamacare.
The real culprit was Arlen Specter who changed from R to D and voted for Obamacare. Without his vote the vote for cloture would have failed and Obamacare would have failed along with it.
"Specter was elected to the Senate five times as a Republican. Having never been elected as a Democrat, he switched parties and became a Democrat on April 30, 2009 and switched his positions on a number of health care issues, ultimately voting for ObamaCare."
But Specter was ousted and hence paid the price of his betrayal.
Other than Specter who was a democrat at the time he voted, every republican voted against Obamacare

I despise the gop/e and mitt romney. That pos leftist will NEVER get the vote of many Conservatives... and when he loses... look to prebieus and the leadership to sling your guilt trip upon. WE HAVE WARNED YOU gop/e SINCE 2008. You guys do not listen very well... or... like most of us suspect... you just despise us as much as we do the gop/e.

I am leaving the GOP plantation and Romney. I’ve voted for the losers they insisted would win my last time. I made that vow after I voted for McCain, who didn’t want to be President, just wanted to be nominated so he could help Obama.
Mitt Romney is an awful campaigner—stiff, unnatural and unoriginal on (or off) his feet.
But with his money he bought far more organization than any, or all, put together, of his opponents had.
That doesn’t make him a good candidate when going up against an incumbent who has in turn far more resources than he will have in the election that counts.
Both are well founded in reality!

katiedidit1: “So Dunn admits Romney is not a conservative but he is formidable.”
Infuriating, isn’t it? So Mitt Romney is a de facto Democrat, but he can win. Wow! I hate the electability argument with a passion. Centrists only use it so they can foist their lame candidates on us. It’s the only thing they have. They can’t win on ideology or ideas. They have none (compromise doesn’t count as an ideology)!
“Vote for my guy. He’ll sell you out on day one, but he can win!”
PUKE!
Oh, and this isn’t about purity. Mitt Romney isn’t even close to being my 80% friend.
Incorrect.
The axiom that defines this election is the same as the one that gave us Obama.
If you give intelligent people of principle a choice of accepting the “lesser of 2 evils” most will opt out and chose neither... Choosing a little evil is still choosing evil...
Obama wins again and the American people lose again...........
The truth is there all right, and it will put Obama back in the White House.
Im predicting the lowest turnout either party has seen in decades.
You may well be correct. But if so then the ‘down ticket races/voters’ won’t make much of an impact and thus status quo will remain. JMO.
I’m working to provide a positive, principled, conservative, FReeper alternative:
Most kind. Thank you. If only we could do a million-men (and women) tea partier march to Tampa to raise hell and force the dumping of the flipflopping fraud...
