Obama pleads at rally: ‘I’m asking you to keep believing in me’
By Olivier Knox | The Ticket – 4 hrs ago

Fighting to recapture the magic of his history-making 2008 campaign, President Barack Obama on Saturday laid out his fullest-yet case for reelection, pleading with struggling Americans to "keep believing in me" and hitting out at presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney.

"If people ask you what this campaign is about, you tell them 'it's still about hope.' You tell them 'it's still about change,'" he told a cheering mass of supporters at Ohio State University in Columbus, six months and one day before the election. "I still believe in you. And I'm asking you to keep believing in me."

Obama, his hopes for a second term weighed down by the stubbornly sluggish economic recovery, worked to convince Americans to view the vote not as a referendum on his record but as a choice between two very different candidates. He painted himself as the champion of the middle class and Romney as eager to "rubber stamp" House Republicans' goal "that we go right back to the policies that created this mess."

"We want businesses to succeed, we want entrepreneurs and investors rewarded when they take risks, when they create jobs and grow our economy. But the true measure of our prosperity is more than just a running tally of every balance sheet and quarterly profit report. I don't care how many ways you try to explain it: Corporations aren't people. People are people," Obama said, mocking a legally accurate but politically problematic comment from Romney early in the campaign.

I believe in you, Mr. President.

I believe you are an abject incompetent bungler who is utterly consumed by a psychopathic level of malignant narcissism, which prevents you from seeing exactly what a feckless, sniveling boob you really are.

Jim Robinson is the owner of freerepublic as characterized in a politico article and fox news article regarding this site recently. Jim is the owner. It is also a corporation. Face it, corporations are people and in most cases I guess 75 percent or higher, they revolve around a single person for myriad reasons. Legal definitions aside it comes down to the fact that corporations are people in the sense that they are not some mythical fantasy creature Even when it’s public to some degree this is true because stockholders hold the value either directly or indirectly via mutual funds, 401k, iras, ect. .

Sigh

So if corporations only ACT as persons, and corporations are but legal creations to represesent a person or persons, (your words), the inescapable conclusion is that corporations aren’t people.

No bad-mouthing there, just a logical conclusion that seems to be understood by everybody but some posters on this forum.

Sorry if that makes our putative nominee look bad. I guess we will just have to keep trying to overcome his gaffes to get him elected.

You are really working hard to avoid the fact that corporations are legal creations and aren’t people.

You also keep avoiding the reason that the corporation was dreamed up by lawyers and the purpose for its existence as a legal creation.

” Obama’s internals are showing he’s going to lose and lose big. He’s desperate. “

Of all years to be force fed by the GOPE, a self-professed PROGRESSIVE will top a Republican ticket.

Of all years, we get the one Republican jerk who is the living template for the worst of Obama’s Marxist legislation.

whoopee.

I think many of us were hoping against hope that FUBO would prove to not be as bad as we feared. Alas for the nation he’s been about 100 times worse than my very worst expectations. And it didn’t take me 12-18 months to determine that......he pissed me off and horrified me in his first 2 weeks.

Note that, aside from private fundraisers, virtually every appearance Zero has made over the last two months is on a college campus.

There is a reason for that: college campuses are virtually the only places he can draw a crowd anymore. And the only places where he can bathe in youthful adulation.

These are the only venues which can deliver the photo ops and sound bites the campaign needs to feed the MSM.

But, at the same time, it’s creating an unsustainable illusion of support and enthusiasm that doesn’t really exist.

They know they’re in deep spit.

I like your perspective.

To be fare, I’d say that the Mitt Rommey crowds also are slim. I traveled the length and breadth of the USA, border to border, coast to coast on a 60 day open ticket on Greyhound Bus. There isn’t any FIRE in the belly in any of the candidates..save Sara Palin. No one is carrying a banner. It’s all PC stuff and the same ole program’s that’s been around since FDR. Look for VERY low turnout, because the Democrats’ didn’t get to pick their candidate, and neither did the Republicans, we can hoodied in the ghetto by the lies of the MSM.

“This guy is very nervous. I think his internal polling is going in the toilet.”

You’re right; elections subsequent to his election give him good reason to be nervous. While his media was singing his praises and falsely reporting his popularity, the Dems have taken a beating in both 2009 and 2010 in races viewed as referendums on Obama. Since things have deteriorated considerably since then, he knows his outlook is grim.

“There is a reason for that: college campuses are virtually the only places he can draw a crowd anymore. And the only places where he can bathe in youthful adulation.”

He’s crazy to pretend that it is 2008 all over again; he has lost much of the college crowd because they also need what others need: jobs and money. I wouldn’t be surprised if he draws any crowd beyond the unassimilated affirmative action students and the deviant homosexual groups; nobody else has any reason to support him.

On a positive note, it appears he won’t even try to appeal to working Americans anymore.

Obama would have you believe in HIM when a American President like Reagan would have you believe in yourselves.

Big difference.

That sure deserves a repeat.

There's a great gulf fixed, and Obama is not and will never be eligible to cross over.

Obama continually telegraphs that he is a noxious, alien transplant - an invasive species eager to suck out the life and choke the roots of the native inhabitants.

Reagan desired to bless and build up America through her own innate strength of character; destroyer Obama seeks to tear down and destroy utterly. It's his nature to reject, defile, and crush that which is decent, right, moral, and beautiful.

Obama's hope and change is less promising than a crack pipe dream. His supporters *want* to be lied to; truth is not welcome in their delusional worldview.
