Renaming tall buildings is one thing but whole cities? What ever happened to Saigon?? I looked at a map and it’s not there any more. Well, I guess it’s not as bad as renaming whole countries like they do in Africa. Oh well.

You didn’t know they “officially” changed it to Ho Chi Minh City? They can go to hell, it will always be Saigon and that’s what we should call it. I would never have called St. Petersburg “Leningrad”. Should we rename Chicago “Obamagrad”?

One that burns me is Mumbai for Bombay. “Mumbai” is how the natives say it but so what? Bombay sounds so much better. We don’t call every city or coutnry what that natives call it or else we’d pronounce the French capital as PEAREE. Rome would be Roma, Japan would be Nippon ect ect.

Burma is one renamed country outside of Africa. The military junta calls it “Myanmar”. I’d like to smack them upside the head.

Iran should be Persia too!
