Texas Gov. Rick Perry originally endorsed Newt Gingrich as the top candidate after dropping out of the Republican presidential race.
But with Gingrich set to quit the campaign trail, Perry on Wednesday evening gave his support to the probable nominee, Mitt Romney.
"Mitt Romney has earned the Republican presidential nomination through hard work, a strong organization, and [a] disciplined message of restoring America after nearly four years of failed job-killing policies from President [Barack] Obama and his administration," Perry said in a statement provided to FOX News Channel.
"So today I join the many conservative Republicans across the nation in endorsing Mitt Romney for president and pledge to him, my constituents and the Republican Party that I will continue to work hard to help defeat President Obama.

You’re right about that, lonestar. People get really tired of being abused by adolescent jerks who think they epitomize virtue by declaring that they will, in effect, vote for Obama.
I guess that’s okay if that’s what they want to do but it doesn’t give them the right to be obnoxious to people who want Obama out.

Only the first two Presidential elections were free of party, and that was due to the stature of Washington. You are wrong about the next two. They were rip roaring political fights between the Federalists and the Republicans. The 4th one in 1800 is the gold standard for no holds barred politics. They changed after the fourth because of Aaron Burr going for the top job in the House even thou he was running as Jefferson's VP. They did not want to repeat this.
They fought hard against each other because they believed the other side was out to annihilate theirs. The Federalists believed that Jefferson would roll out the guillotines if he won. The Republicans truly believed Hamilton or Adams would crown himself king if he won.
A good example for today, is Alexander Hamilton in 1800. Thou Jefferson was his arch foe, he supported him over Burr because he believed Jefferson loved his country and Burr only loved himself. The next four years showed how correct Hamilton was in his assessment.

It's too silly to get upset about.
Funny thing is they are really just an irritation and then try to influence other people into agreeing with them! LOL!

Gay marriage - we are doomed there. The good news is it will be widespread when most of us are dead. Talk to the under-30 crowd, its popular. The indoctrination worked, they are just waiting for us older folk to take our dirt naps. No one was going to stop this one, and I hate it, but its reality. I disagree -- at least with regard to the guys. We do, however, have to do a better job of pointing out why we are against it rather than just looking like big meanies.
