... Eight years ago, The Times offered comparably scant campaign coverage of the incumbent, George W. Bush, even as it blanketed readers with articles about Senator John Kerry and others competing for the Democratic nomination.
Now, though, the general election season is on, and The Times needs to offer an aggressive look at the presidents record, policy promises and campaign operation to answer the question: Who is the real Barack Obama?
Many critics view The Times as constitutionally unable to address the election in an unbiased fashion. Like a lot of America, it basked a bit in the warm glow of Mr. Obamas election in 2008. The company published a book about the countrys first African-American president, Obama: The Historic Journey. The Times also published a lengthy portrait of him in its Times Topics section on NYTimes.com, yet theres nothing of the kind about George W. Bush or his father.
Readers deserve to know: Who is the real Barack Obama? And The Times needs to show that it can address the question in a hard-nosed, unbiased way.

Re: A Hard Look at the President!!
UGH you look, I can’t I value my sanity too much.
For the first time since I was 12, I did not watch election coverage. To this day, this political junkie has no idea of the electoral count or state results. I was as the indoor range trying out a weapon I ultimately bought. I knew what was going to happen to America and just could not watch that night.
So, does that mean that the Times also basked in the warm glow following George Bush's elections?
I think we all know the answer.
I posted it under the name FEDUP. Can’t copy text from an iPad
It was heart-breaking.
I didn’t feel bad for all the crazies who thought he was a god and were just looking for an idol to worship, but I really did feel badly for black Americans because they were being used and some (not all) really looked hopeful and happy that they had finally broken the race barrier with a black President...and sadly, I knew he was evil, immoral and would only bring ruin to our country.
I cannot think of one good thing he has done-and that’s a sad legacy for our first black President.
We knew he would keep us white conservatives under his foot, but black Americans didn’t know they would be under his thumb and used to advance his hideous and anti-American agenda whenever he needed to play the race baiting game.
His legacy will be one of pure corruption.

We know who Obama is - he is the run of the mill corrupt politician looking out for his own selfish interests and not those who voted for him in 2008.Obama is NOT a "run of the mill corrupt politician." Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are "run of the mill corrupt politicians." Joe Biden is a "run of the mill corrupt politician."
Obama is an ENEMY of the United States, its People, and the government he pretends to lead. He is a complete FRAUD. If I were his successor (were he to have one) he wouldn't survive my first term.

I wanted something that would get posted. They heavily censor posts over there.
Personally I believe is as close to the Antichrist as they get.

To get through the censors I have to hold back a bit.
as far as my statement that he is the. Run of the mill hack politician, you need to understand that to the average obamabot that is even. Worse than our calling him the devil or a communist etc.
When we call him a communist, even if it’s 100 percent true, they immediately dismiss it as crazy talk. But when you call him a typical corrupt politician it’s far more damaging mentally to him since not only deep down do they know it’s true, but it takes him off his ivory perch and into the slime with all the rest. Remember, to these idiots Obama is “the one”.
“But when you call him a typical corrupt politician its far more damaging”
I think you’re right. When he’s called a communist, socialist, etc., most people don’t get it considering the education they’ve received over the past 30 or so years. Everyone understands “corrupt politician” on some level. That’s probably the best approach to bring him down. If only the MSM would be honest...
Recently, Rush was listing incident after incident that went on seemingly forever. Each incident considered separately is pretty bad. But when they’re put out there in a long stream you have to pay attention.
I understand, but I disagree. I'm a rip out the wires kinda guy. Think Frank Sinatra in The Manchurian Candidate.

I go by the reaction of my leftist Facebook friends reactions to things I post. When I call him a commie they freak. When I say he is no different than any other failed corrupt pol they get despondent.
Look at my tagline.
Hey NY Times Schmucks!ML/NJAre you afraid of an honest discussion about our President's background?
Me versus the best you've got, No profanity, No censorship. Your guys get five times as many words as I do, so long as I get at least 100 words you print.
And I'll do it for free, for my country. It would be great theater, and a brief blessing to your shareholders.
You know how to contact me.
My leftist friends rarely see anything I post is my guess.
A week ago I spent the better part of a week with one of them. We were betting on horses, drinking bourbon, and smoking cigars down in Kentucky.
But I took the opportunity one night to pull up the birth certificate from the Whitehouse's own website in front of him. I made sure he knew it was from the Whitehouse website. I blew the thing up 6x. I made sure he understood how to repeat what I doing. Then I navigated to the signatures and showed him the different pixel sizes. He isn't sufficiently stupid that he didn't recognize that something was wrong, so he was basically speechless.
You've got to hit these people between the eyes with a 2x4, or they're not going to notice.

What I do that makes them explode is show the bush policies that Obama has doubled down on and they melt down.
sad to say, but Obama took everything we hated about GWB and tripled it.
