Planning has begun for the 7th Annual TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.

This year’s shoot will be held at Schwenke’s Rifle & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069, Aransas Pass, TX. Which is a few miles north of Corpus Christi.

The date of the shoot is October 6th, which is Columbus Day weekend.

I have not talked to the range owner yet to see if we can cook on the range. If not, we will head over here for food & more fun. What food & who cooks has yet to be determined. I’m thinking, since we will be on the coast, we should have seafood.

Several of us will be staying in the cottages at that resort. The cottages sleep 2 ~ 4 people; they are a one bedroom with a fold out queen couch. I am going to reserve four cottages so that we will have a common area where we can eat & socialize. Let me know if you want to stay in one of them.

It should be noted that a festival will be held the same weekend as the shoot.

Oh, dang! The house (rented) we moved from three years ago has two buckeye nut trees, and we used to harvest them. But our current property does not have any buckeye trees at all.

I’ll try the grocery store in late September. If no luck, the fallback position is an online purchase, I guess.

You didn’t include us in your ping, but we intend to be there on Thursday and had planned to stay in one of the cottages.

If you forgot us, we can make other arrangements if all the rooms are taken. Just let me know, please.

Sorry if I was NOT clear about advancing the cottage resos to include Thursday night....that was for our group of mylife, LUV W, and perhaps Laurenmarlowe.

I'm pert sure they will be able to extend forward other reservations.

But don't wait to do it!

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to excluded you on purpose ~ I blame it on all the crack I smoked yesterday, it does funny things to your mind. %-}

Reservation’s for Thursday were made this morning. We are all good to go.

I still have one cottage reserved, if you want it let me know. If there are not takers I will cancel that reservation next month.

The schedule so far is, dinner Friday night 7:00 at Captain Benny’s in Fulton; the shoot at Schwenke’s at 10:00 (I still need to ask him if we can cook lunch there); the after party at the cottages in Rockport. A recon trip is in order to find a place for breakfast that can accommodate all of us.

Thank you for the ping. We would love to be there but might have to make last minute plans as we can’t commit just yet. Please keep me posted though on all plans. We might surprise ourselves and actually make it a well deserved weekend getaway!

Thank you very much for getting our cottage reservation lined up for us. Sheila, Chris and I will be there. She didn’t even complain. Must’ve been because of the good time we had at the Houston Chapter BBQ some years back that she still talks about from time to time. Woo hoo!!

Regrettably I am going to have to cancel out of this years event as Mrs alfa6 will be having back surgery October 4th.

And as double bummer I will not get to met Jim Robinson:-(

We had a cottage reserved at the Pelican Bay Resort from Sunday 9/30 to Sunday 10/8 IIRC. If anybody would want it let mew know by Freepmail and I will work it out with the resort so that you can have it. Otherwise I cancel it in a few weeks.

Oh, nooooooo!!! I’m so sad that you won’t be there! We will miss you a lot! I hope, however, that your wife has a successful surgery and a full recovery.
