Folks, just heard, Hatch in a run off ! Liljenquist and Tea Partiers did it !!!
“Some of these people just hate Mormons and insist on repeating dopey things on thread after thread.”
They hate one Mormon in particular.
Another GOPe bitten by Conservatives. Bye, Booby Hatch.
Hatch got 57% in the first vote and 59.2% in the 2nd. Thus the forced primary as it takes 60% to avoid the primary. Dan Liljenquist a former state senator will be his opponent.
Bout time to retire the RINO’s. Best news all day.
Saw him on Greta last night - he is really pissed off & bitter & that was before he knew he’d have to face a primary. He seems to think it is personal with Freedom Works .... went on a rant about all the money they’ve spent against him vs Obama, etc. He’s been in DC waaay too long as evidenced by his attitude.
It’s long memories like yours that lead to tea parties.
If he is stealth RINO, I’d like to know, but your source link requires log in to the NY Times. (No thanks.) It would not surprise me one bit for Mitt to attempt to get one of his people into office. They would eventually turn RINO just like he does. But I wonder if that news piece isn’t just disinformation propaganda from the NY Times in order to help Hatch.
Hatch is a mormon and there have been zero anti-mormon threads.
There have been many threads exposing mormonISM.
These mormon politicians are who they are because of their mormonISM not in spite of it.
Utah has a sore looser law.
Show one post where anyone says or implies they hate mormons.
You keep making the charge without basis.
Another DC RINO will soon bite the dust.
Good riddance. Hatch can join Lugar is a retirement home.
Thanks for the post. Poor Orrin. This is what he gets for thinking he is living in the past. And his ass kissing of Teddy Kennedy was just way over the top for true conservatives in Utah.
I clearly see there’s a lot of joy and jubilation here over the news that Orrin Hatch has to compete in a primary. Now, forgive me, but could someone please explain to me why do so many Freepers want to see Hatch go? Is it because of his position on some specific key issues? Or is it that he’s just simply been around too long and is thus viewed as part of the establishment?
One thing I find curious is, according to the Heritage Foundation’s legislative scorecard which is constructed as a comprehensive and revealing barometer of a lawmakers willingness to fight for conservative policies in Congress, Orrin Hatch currently receives a score of 91%, which is a higher score than all but five senators. (Heritage prides itself on being tough graders, as they should be):

I’m not trying to be disagreeable here, nor do I claim to be some big fan of Orrin Hatch... I’m genuinely interested in learning what am I missing here that should make me want to see him retired?
Upset? He sure is.
I heard Hatch on FOX Radio this morning (Eastern time). This was before the results were in. ‘Ole Orrin must have seen some internal polls.
Hatch really layed into the TEA Party....he hates the TEA Party with a passion. Hatch sounded angry and bitter. Boo hoo.
The reporter mentioned that Hatch has been in the Senate for 30 years. The Founding Fathers never intended for there to be such a thing as a career politician.....the source of many of the country’s problems. It’s a shame the Founders didn’t put term limits in the Constitution.
RINO hunting season is open!
My guess is he is now toast.
“”Orrin Hatch currently receives a score of 91%,”””
I think you answered your own question. In a super conservative state like Utah their Senators should have a 100% conservative voting record.
A tough conservative would have no problem getting elected and staying elected in Utah.
Yeah, and CNN us unbiased.
