A key moment in George Zimmerman's cellphone call to the Police Department in Sanford, Fla., on the fateful night of Feb. 26 occurs at 7:11:41 p.m., a little more than two minutes into a call that lasts about four minutes.
"He's running," says Zimmerman, referring to the "real suspicious guy" he'd called in to report. Almost immediately you hear on the recording a car door opening and what sounds like a warning beep indicating the key is still in the ignition. Shortly thereafter comes the unmistakable sound of wind blowing into a phone mouthpiece.
Zimmerman is in pursuit! And we all know the outcome: Zimmerman, 28, ultimately shot and killed the unarmed Martin, 17, touching off a national controversy about race, justice and firearms.
But what's often overlooked in all the heated conversations about this tragedy is the actual timeline based on police documents, a timeline that culminated at 7:16:56 p.m., more than five minutes later, with the sound of a single gunshot in the background of a 911 emergency call.

IDK. In my initial post I said that I didn’t know if it was rumor or fact. I was just answering a question on why He didn’t shoot twice.
Snips from the article:
7:11:41 p.m “He’s running” says Zimmerman
7:11:56 p.m “Are you following him?” asks the police dispatcher
7:12:15 p.m. the wind noises have stopped and his breathing has returned to normal as he discusses with the police dispatcher where responding officers should meet him
7:13:12 p.m. he interjects, “I don’t know where this kid is.”
7:13:41 p.m. Zimmerman hangs up with police
7:16:11 p.m. first 911 emergency calls from neighbors reporting their fight
7:16:56 p.m., more than five minutes after Trayvon starts running, sound of a single gunshot in the background of a 911
***fatal altercation between Zimmerman and Martin takes place only about 80 yards from Zimmerman’s vehicle 100 yards from the home where Martin was staying
*** 7:13:12 p.m. he interjects, “I don’t know where this kid is.”..... Where is Martin? At just a normal walking pace of three miles per hour, he would be home by the time Zimmerman hangs up with police at 7:13:41 p.m.
Now that you mention it, Mormon Mittens is a lot like Quaker Nixon. They are both RINOs with weird religions, not afraid to lie at the drop of a hat. Despite being Republican-lite the press absolutely despised old white man Nixon, and they will despise President Mittens. Nixon is what caused the leftist media to come out of the closet. From then on news reporting became a magnet for narcissists seeking to become political activist stars working to destroy the culture of American wealth and success.
Carter II was an opportunity for a Reagan II to get elected. Instead we're getting Nixon II.
Have you watched the videos explaining why you should never talk to the police?
Here in Kalifornia we are legally required to register handguns. That means that the gun can be traced to a particular person, assuming it is registered.
I don't know the law in Florida, but Zimmerman might have been well served by saying absolutely nothing. The prosecutors might then be faced with reasonable doubt about whether Martin or Zimmerman brought the gun to the scene. (An empty holster might give the game away, however.)
As it is, Zimmerman has made many statements and anything that he has said that seems to conflict with the physical evidence or testimony from witnesses, however much mistaken, can, will, and is being used against him. Anything he had to say could have been communicated through his lawyer.
Hadn’t thought of that.
Figured if the cop asked if the gun that I’d just used in self defense laying there on the gound, no longer in my hand so the cops wouldn’t see me as a threat, was ready to fire, I’d have told them whether there was a live round in the chamber or not.
Learn somethin’ new every day.
If I’m ever in that situation, I guess I’ll just stand there with my hands up like a deafmute then.
The most striking example that I recall was of a suspect claiming to have been out of town. A witness with no stake in the situation and who was considered reliable reported, mistakenly, having seen the suspect in town just before the crime was committed.
Had the suspect remained silent, there would have been no evidentiary value to having been seen in town. However, by claiming not to have been in town, the suspect created a conflict in statements which brought the suspect's truthfulness into question.
I am the same way in letting insects out except I carry 24/7 and will shoot anyone who attacks me.
Pacifism cannot be absolute in this world.....there are people who will kill you without thinking twice.
I'd bet real foldin money on that...a month's salary. I can even hear the words (In a whiney voice): "If you don't kick that cracker's ass, you can forget gettin' nothin' from me. You ain't a man!"
IMHO, with all the racial stereotypes out there and despite all the claims of “white racism,” Zimmerman doesn’t look like a “cracker” at all. He looks and sounds Latino. This happened in Florida. If Sanford is as bad as many here are claiming, maybe Martin thought he was being followed by a gangbanger (MS-13). Anyway, that’s been this freeper’s opinion from the beginning - that they both were suspicious of each other, but Zimmerman set the events in motion.
The expended brass was still in the chamber. Gun never cycled, indicating Trayvon had a strong grip on it, preventing the slide from cycling.
Someone pointed out that seizing a gun like that is a grappling skill taught in prison, among other places .... it will absolutely prevent a revolver from firing.
Peru, his mother's homeland, has a microscopic creole presence, and a mestizo fraction of proportions I don't recall .... it isn't large. Most of Peru is mestizo or pureblooded Andean Indian, indio in Spanish. Zimmermann looks like a Peruvian Indian, and even his complexion is considerably darker than shown on TV earlier this month. When he appeared in new video in a well-lit courtroom, I was surprised at how "bruce" his overall coloration is. He really does look indio.

Time to call the NSA. It's fair odds that that conversation is in memory in their giant eavesdropping network somewhere.
Isn't cherchez la femme carved in stone over the doorway of every French police station?
I also was taught to grab an opponent's gun that way during a class on weapons retention and disarming techniques. Among other things, you have more leverage than the guy holding the gun at the grip. If Trayvon grabbed the gun there, what he failed to do was use his superior leverage to immediately POINT THE GUN AWAY FROM HIMSELF.
“The expended brass was still in the chamber.”
That’s just contrary to the reports that said the chamber was empty and the shell that was fired had been ejected, which is what the whole discussion was based on. Changing the facts that the discussion is predicated on renders the discussion meaningless.
“seizing a gun like that.... will absolutely prevent a revolver from firing.”
seizing a gun like what will keep a revolver from firing? like with a grip on the barrel across the top of the slide attempting to prevent the slide from blowing back when the first shot is fired? but a revolver has no slide. And how would your undescribed grip absolutely keep a semi-automatic from firing? did you mean, from firing more than once?
Here is an amazingly fair account of the timeline of events in the Chicago Tribune. Albeit a blog in the CT. It’s not going to help the prosecution much at all.
