Romney responds to Obama’s ‘silver spoon’ jab

A day after President Barack Obama declared, "I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth," a not-so-subtle swipe at Mitt Romney's wealth, the former Massachusetts governor responded by accusing the president of "attacking people" instead of "attacking problems."

In an interview on "Fox & Friends," the presumptive Republican nominee said he would not apologize for his father's achievements and his upbringing.

"I'm certainly not going to apologize for my dad and his success in life," Romney told Fox News. "He was born poor. He worked his way to become very successful despite the fact that he didn't have a college degree, and one of the things he wanted to do was provide for me and for my brother and sisters."

Well, no fan of Romney here, but it is a bit refreshing to see he’s willing to hit back at Obama, a departure from the weak McCain four years ago.

Maybe he wasn't born with a silver spoon, but my sense is Obama has been handed a lot of stuff on a silver platter. He doesn't release his college transcripts, but we know he got into Harvard Law. My guess is that he benefited greatly from affirmative action and some kind of white guilt complex on the part of the law school admissions office. He was handed the Harvard Law Review presidency (not editor) basically because he and they wanted to be popular and chic. He was basically given a political appointment at UC Law, even though he had essentially no credentials other than political connections. Same with Michelle's six-figure do-nothing job. He won almost all of his early political races either by dirty tricks (getting sealed court documents released) or disqualifying from the ballot all of his other viable opponents.

As I recall, Obama wasn’t living off his father’s support since none was forthcoming.His mother chose to live in a third world country with him but he wasn’t poor by any means and later when he moved in with his Grandparents he went to the most prestigious high school in Hawaii (Private school btw) then went to Ivy League schools. When has this pretender ever had to struggle? He’s got the largest sense of entitlement this side of Al Sharpton.

We know the silver spoon in Mitt’s mouth was put there by his mother and father. We also know because of the silver spoon, Mitt was born in a hospital, already in place, he was given a Social Secutity Number, he went to college on his father’s dollar. He can show his birth certificate, school records, his passports from his first trip to a foreign country, he can show any papers he may be written. Is there anything about the past life of the pretender in the whitehouse available to the public?
